The fire spread because the two drivers were inside the truck stop taking showers.
KB3MMX, longbedGTs, Aamcotrans and 10 others Thank this. -
More likely one of the trucks went into Regen. (my guess is the empty) This is happening a lot it seems.
NavigatorWife, Bud A., tech10171968 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yea there went all that carbon they were trying to not let in the atmosphere.Short Fuse EOD, All4Safety, NavigatorWife and 7 others Thank this.

If that’s the case a driver may be in trouble. Most fueling stations tell you to SHUT OFF THE ENGINE before refueling. I never could understand why people keep their trucks running while refueling.drvrtech77, bryan21384 and Oldironfan Thank this.

I didn’t think California trucks smoked like that. Wait till carb finds them.
KB3MMX, Wicked Good, IluvCATS and 1 other person Thank this. -
Because normal engine heat will not start diesel on fire, in fact just heat won't usually start gas on fire.IluvCATS, All4Safety and Lepton1 Thank this.

It’s not the liquid it’s the vapors you have to worry about. Plus the exhaust from a truck doing a regen can reach 1200 degrees F. One of those trucks BBQ’d at the pumps was a Cascadia, and some of them use the weed burner exhaust, which in regen mode can get hot enough possibly start a fire.KB3MMX, All4Safety, tech10171968 and 1 other person Thank this.

I won't idle while fueling, but I'll idle til I'm ready to pump to let the engine cool a bit if I'm just off the highway.Lepton1 and Oldironfan Thank this.

And I now show one(1) very good reason to do away with all that emissions garbage, anybody measure how much emissions is released from "clean" trucks burning up in the parking lot?Oldironfan and F350DRW Thank this.
