Well I been waiting on the Dealership to finish Cleaning and inspecting the truck to release it to me. 2001 Columbia, 500hp Cat. The original Truck I was going to get was sold before I got home.

Thanks. Sounds like a money-maker. Good deal? I mean, do you feel like the current trucking economy got you a better deal than you would have a couple years ago?

Any financial details you'd be willing to post I'm sure a lot would appreciate :yes2557:

Well Not much I can really tell. I will be paying 1560.00 a month vice the 1360.00 per month, as I first was planning. Difference in the Truck.

Can I make it with today's Economy? I feel I can, if not I would not be buying. I figured out my Cost, and how much I would be making and I will be doing OK. It going to be hard and highly challenge, but I am up for it. But what I seen so far of what my expenses will be I should make it, for my Insurance is much less than I been figuring on, less than 160.00 per month. Once I get my own authority it will increase though but for now leasing on to another company It is really low.

    Good Choices Coastie !!

You took the smartest step in not purchasing a truck from a "Company"!
    Great!
So if you decide to leave that company, the truck goes with you!

From what I've been hearing , USA is a pretty good company. Heard good talk about them, but you won't get rich.

The way the economy and rates are right now... hopefully you are getting paid by the mile, rather than percentage. You'll make out better right now getting paid by miles.
With percentage you don't get paid for dead head miles. Some companies give you the choice. I think with USA you run a lot of dead head miles. And it's your cost of fuel.

And if you get your own Authority???? Forget the Companies!

Work with a Straight Broker, or Get Your Own Cutomer to Ship for!
That's the real way to do it. There's $$$$ doing it that way! No Middleman!

Why give your hard earned dollar to a company?
Believe me, it's easy finding Your own company to ship for!

Thanks, I read your post earlier but did not have time to reply.

As for my own authority, yes, I am planning on it, but I am taking it one

USA does pay all miles Loaded and deadhead + FSC on both.

As for USA I have not deadheaded that much, but yes I have deadheaded once for 400miles for a load that was only going 384 miles, but that was only once. Most of the time only 75 miles on average.

I want to wish you the best coastie, I have been researching for months now and will be getting my own truck in about 1.5yrs, as I will be going back to Iraq at end of this year. I hope you will keep us posted like Broncrider has, would like to know how it works out and I am sure others would want the same.
