Questions: What is avg length of haul? solo's run alot of short runs?
Do all trucks have APU's?
Do JCT drivers do alot of Night driving (because of freight times)?
What are the main driving lanes? How much New York or New England States?
Do you get a route plan and fuel stop plan with your load info? Or do you just use your own judgement on routes and fueling?
Last question, if you choose a truck thats 3 years old, does that mean you only have 2 years left on the current lease? And do you get the maintenance fund account for that truck that the driver put into it or do you start a new one for yourself?
Very last question, Ive never been in a Kenworth truck so Im just wondering about the Kenworth T600 and W900L I saw on JCT website-do they have double bunk? I didnt see one and it didnt list one. It show's a couch like seating Im assuming folds out to a bed. Ok enough rambling, and thanks for any info. DRIVE SAFE -
2. no
3. There again,it all depends. The best way to describe our running times, is that they use loose log sheets. no books or electronic. Use your imagination
4. East west north south. I have been to NY state twice, NJ once,PA 4 times
5. Own judgement. All fuel stops MUST match your logs
6. More than likely you will not get a truck no more than 2 years old. You start your own fund.it belongs to you. You take it with you if you leave
7. as far as know all trucks have double bunks -
For newbies out there be very careful about running bogus logs. In the event of an accident you will be on your own while JCT claims no knowledge of your actions.
You may want to check the safestat online webpage for this carrier as well. They have a pretty poor rating from what I can see which means increased scrutiny from DOT especially at weigh stations.
drsea 91.12 (driver compliance)
vhsea 30.27 (vehicle)
smsea 70.55 (safety management)
Accident stats were removed so I could not access that info.Last edited: Feb 1, 2009

I've worked here for almost 3 years and have not regretted it. People in the office are friendly and usually will listen if you have a problem. Everyone sometimes has a bad day. Hope you like us and hang in. Good Luck.

I don't mean to hog time here, but I felt I should comment on some things I read. I have leased with other companies and have earned more on a consistent basis with JCT than any other company. I have never been told I could not refuse a load and if I took a slow load and wanted to drop it early at a yard and get another, it usually happened. I have always gotten home within 24 hours of my requested time, and when my parents passed away, they moved heaven and earth to try to get me home in time to say goodbye. I rarely do not make a paycheck unless I'm taking my normal week off at home every 6 weeks. They have never screwed with my settlement and have adjusted miles to cover bad weather out-of-route miles. If there is a mistake, it's fixed the next week. I don't know anything more a company can really do. They aren't a true 'team' company . For that, one would need to check out an air freight company like FedEx, UPS, or FAF. Otherwise, I get between 3500 and 4000 miles per week which is all I want.

I think JCT has a better lease then Prime and Central. I say that because I have heard people make more here than anywhere else. Also, you do not have 35K for a truck that has more miles compared to the others. If you compare the lease choices which are:
Prime
Central
Swift
England
I would like know how you much pay for fuel in the end.
