The worst company is the company you dont research!!! Find the company that matches your needs! Hometime? Dont go to Prime (for example) or Crete.... Thats the problem, people read these posts then go drive for the easiest carrier they can drive for. Do your homework, it pays off. Good luck and DRIVE SAFE

Saying they're all good ,and it's what you make of it is one of the dullest statements I hear made in OTR . I mean yeah if you're cool with .26 cpm 1800 miles a week, poorly maintained equipment, and being told you can't have heat in winter or cool air in the summer while you sit on break or waiting for freight then sure you're just the hobo low expectation type to work there and accept those poor conditions..myself I look down on individuals who willingy accept these conditions ,and then spout off the stating ...it's all what you make it .

I drive for Prime, and get home time whenever I ask for it - just need a load going that direction, which usually isn't too hard to find. In fact, my dispatcher will occasionally find a load going to my home port and then ask if I want some time off after I deliver.

So, knighton5, if you've ever worked for Prime, obviously our experience differs.

I've driven for a lot of different companies. I have a lot of friends who have driven for a lot of other companies. And I have worked for Crete, as well as other Acklie companies for a lot of years, and I have not yet found a company that has treated me better than Crete. Nor have I ever worked for a company that was as interested in my personal success as was Crete. I have found, however, that most folks who have a problem with Crete either have a problem being able to operate within the safety guidelines or have a terrible attitude that doesn't allow them to get the big picture. Most drivers that I had spent time around at Crete that had problems, generally brought them on themselves.

Nothing is wrong with Crete (or PRIME). I drive for Crete and I think there the best out here. My own opinion, but dont expect to be home every week. My statement had nothing to do with putting those carriers down, just make sure if you want to be home all the time (for example) dont drive for Crete, unless your on there dedicated fleet and you get thru the house all the time. Sorry, you took my comments wrong. I meant that if you want hometime every week - dont go to Prime or Crete... I didnt say they are bad. In fact, I drive for Crete and love the way they operate, but expect to be out 3 or 4 weeks if your on the national fleet.. I have no experience with Prime, but I cant imagine you going home weekly and make any money as a lease operator. Alot of these new or newer drivers read whats on here and expect to make alot of money and be home all the time. DRIVE SAFE
