Ahh, I guess I'll chime in, I've got nothing else going on. I don't really "dislike" any certain make or model, but I do have a PERSONAL preference, just like I prefer a certain kind of clothes, woman, beer, personal vehicle etc. I see this as being no different.
I haven't driven EVERY truck out there, but I've driven a FLD, Classic XL, Columbia, Cascadia, 379, one 359, 389, one W9, T-660, T-600, one Volvo 670, Int 9400i, pro star and a few more I'm sure I'm forgetting and I will say this, my PERSONAL favorite is a 379 hood. Why? Hell I don't know, that's just what this fella here likes. I enjoy the narrower cab allowing me to reach over to the passenger side to grab something out of my bag, or the fridge, I think overall they're made better, TO ME, I like the dash setup, mirrors, blah blah blah, and by god, YES, I do like the way they look. Flame on. By the way, I have driven a pink 379. It was a hot rod for sure, and it was 2 tone, pink and black. Never got grief over it.
Now, moving along, will I ever pick a company strictly based off of what kind of truck they have available? No. Will I avoid a company due to certain equipment? Absolutely. By that, I mean I don't care WHAT the make or model it is, if the trucks look like they've been rode hard and put up wet, I'm going elsewhere. Unfortunately, you just happen to see a lot of ragged out freight-shakers etc, so they can get a bad rap. But I've seen and driven a couple really nice Columbia's which most would consider "plastic junk" that were great trucks, because the owners actually spent some money on them and tricked them out a bit and made them MORE than just a plastic truck, and they ran great.
If someone else is signing my paycheck, then they can put me in whatever they see fit, as long as it's safe for travel and will pass inspection, I'm fine. I'll worry about being picky when I'm laying $$$ on the table for my own PERSONAL truck. -
I know Lew Thompson and sons drive a fleet of 387 and 389 Pete's. 389a there remind me of exd hoods. 13 speeds and 73 or 75 mph truckst. Run lots of southeast and Texas. They are out of Batesville ar and huntsville are. Good pay for reefer and chicken lights.
You choose If you want a hood or slope. @NoRoom4NewGenTrkrsAttached Files:

New trucks are ugly , we can all agree . But the folks who made the 379 stopped making them and use fiberglass and plastic as you say . The industry turned from sharp lines to round lines for aerodynamics. That said , the 379 X In midnight black is demonic ! Bring back the four and a quarter with the eighteen double over !
Cam Roberts Thanks this. -
If you want to make really good money and drive a sharo Pete and have a social life drive for In N Out!

Life is to short to drive a ugly truck!! But..what is ugly to some, may not be to another. Lets face the facts. What models are holding the best resale value? Get it, got it, good! Dont get huffy , I don't set resale values.jsnell, Roger McG and Cam Roberts Thank this.
