And you would think they would get you out of the hotel quickly because they pay you after a certain hour? Some terminals don't even blink at leaving you there for 8 paid hours or more.

Fine by me. Take a bit of a break make a couple hundred bucks without using my 70. Uber to a cafe or restaurant and chill.

That's exactly right. If the dispatchers at the terminals know they can bounce you around and you don't need to go home for anything? You are going to make more money than you even believe right now.

That's right. And after a certain number of hours, they will also owe you a meal ticket, which will pay for your food and transportation.

That is very good to hear. I wish they had a 401k match as I’m doubtful I’ll ever see much from the pension but my budget keeps me happy living off $45k, the rest gets saved anyway for retirement or whatever.

Live within your means, Live like you will never receive a pension, and you will be very happy down the road. That's what I've been doing for 10 years now.

My thoughts exactly. I’m ahead of people my age with savings as I’ve always lived like a make a lot less than I do. I have friends who are maxed out on everything an in debt and it makes me sick. I have my car loan and that’s it, which I could pay off today three times over if I weren’t getting a sweet interest rate. But these people who get to retirement and are shocked social security and pension cuts aren’t providing for them- sorry, that sucks, but anyone with a bit of foresight and realism can see that coming.

I mean... It's always good to make your money with a bit of decorum. I would never tell my less fortunate friends that it sucks to be them. Lol

From what I thought under the new contract, they are putting a few dollars an hour into a 401k. They did that instead of increasing pension contributions which ticked off a lot of senior drivers that are in Central States pension fund.

    Something to look into.
