Will you take payments o.o lol

Werner allowed hubby to train me within 1 week of his hire date but he has 10 years exp and the las 2 years prior to Werner he was a truck driving school instructor and we were going team so there was a few things on our side there. The only issue was he wasn't allowed to test me out. Weird they won't let him train you.

Vickster O, I am so sorry this has happened to you. I don't really have much in the way of advice, but I do want to tell you this kind of backbiting isn't common in trucking. Most of the women I run into out here are happy to see a female face cause we're still so rare. Men are great, but sometimes you want to talk to another female!

No problem. I tried to help out another student in Florida who is trying to find a job. We have a pretty decent dedicated haz-mat gig down that way. But he said they weren't hiring students to check back in six months. It could be just down there and on that particular freight they'd rather have experienced drivers. They might still be hiring newbies up this way, I know they are still hiring exp'd drivers, and it's worth a shot to call and see.

I just spoke with Werner on the phone, and they seem to be one of the very few companies that are actually hiring recent graduates. Do they have auto-shift trucks, do you know? They have orientations soon too, so I wouldn't have to wait. I know I've read a lot of negative stuff about them in the forums, but they pay a HELL of a lot better than Milan does. Milan actually just last week gave everyone in the company a pay cut. The more you make, the more the cut. My husband is only making .26 a mile right now.... that's just wrong!!!

I talked to Milan, and my only option is to get back in the truck with that trainer from hell!! They're being total pricks about it, and that'll definitely be my LAST resort.

They didn't have auto shift when my hubby was driving for them.

They aren't the big bad ogre like some of the posts make them out to be.

lol Oh, I know... there's a lot of disgruntled drivers out there that like to complain. I think every company has their fair share of bad comments. I'm on hold to see if it'll be an issue regarding the 10-speed inexperience. I CAN drive one, but haven't been trained, and will definitely have to get lots of practice. An auto-shift is much easier, but as far as a trucking career, I'd rather be able to drive the manual just as well.

Why does everyone say that few companies are hiring recent graduates ?...When it's actually the other way around with the big companies who are only hiring recent graduates that still need to be trained in-hose ,and not experienced drivers who don't due most likely to the government funds the companies get for putting new meat behind the wheel ...

Trust me hon, I've been checking out every option out there! The government funded most of my school expenses, but most companies I've contacted need at LEAST 3 months solo experience, or they say they aren't hiring out of my area right now.

Brickman, thanks for the info! Can't hurt to check it out!! Anyone ever heard of KLLM? I checked out their site online, and their pay is awesome! The office is closed right now, so I don't know if they're hiring yet.
