MHC is worth his weight in gold providing a quality dispatch service and is one heck of a nice guy! I have spoken with him several times in the last few days and told him if I went o/o i would use him no doubt. I'm old school like some here but I prefer to work smarter not harder. Dispatch services just make sense to me. Thanks @ MHC

I'm Probably 1 of the FEW out Here that Represents Drivers before anything else.
I Believe in Fair and Honest treatment of Drivers AND Heavy Representation.
Im From Chicago and have A Mindset of Drivers Having the Complete Package
(Fair Ratesa including Premium pay,Quality Benefits of the highest Standard..And a Positive relationship for them on AND off the Job).
You Completely have the Wrong image of me.......I Cannot Find 1 Single Member on this Forum That stands behind drivers like I Do.
Remember..I Have Plenty of experience in this Field..In all Aspects. I Know what a Driver endures because I Still Drive to this day.
My Pet Peeves?? Morons in this Industry that take ADVANTAGE of Drivers financially.......
Examples- Carriers only thinking about their Heavy Bottom Lines
Federal and state agencies that DO NOT need to put their noses here.
Dispatch services (Like Yourself) Spamming away Everywhere with Things that carriers can do by themselves

People around my area know me as a swell guy- And I Put my Heart on my Sleeve for every hard working driver on the street- BAR NONE- -
What about trying to be more efficient in some tasks by leaving other tasks to a third party provider?
I think Dispatching services are useful to certain drivers. And for the O/O that doesn't need them, they should stop antagonizing people that offer this kind of service. -
Basically An unwise business decision. Either be independent or lease on to take full advantage of that % your giving up. -
IMO people that need dispatch services are lazy which fits the trucker view anyhow.

These outsourcing comments are hysterical. Negotiating rates is the most important vital part of the operation. No successful company outsources the really important stuff, they outsource the easy less vital things.

My question is, do dispatch companies use a non-compete clause? Meaning you can't work for anyone that they have dispatched you to (brokers and direct Freight)?
In business in general, businesses all run differently. Different people have different skill sets.
So you may hear one person say why would you pay a percentage for someone to find you a load, yet someone else might ask that same person why do you pay someone to set the overhead on your truck or put brakes on your truck or change oil on your truck? Or they might ask the same person why would you buy a brand new truck with a huge payment and huge insurance payments and go to the dealer for repairs? It's all expense.
I have a lot of experience in the contracting business. A lot of guys in the contracting business say that they have to do their own selling because they are the face of the company. I know plenty of other companies that hire salesman that are very successful. It really just depends what your strengths and weaknesses are and what you actually like to do.
There probably are some guys that know the business and know the amount of money they should be getting for a particular load, but maybe they just don't like to wrestle with brokers every single solitary day of their life. Maybe they have other ways that their expenses are low and they don't mind putting some of their expense into that. Maybe they do some of their own dispatching and use that to fill in at different times.
It doesn't mean they don't know what they're doing. They just allocate their resources a little differently and use their skill set in their own unique way.Midwest Trucker, W900AOwner and trucking.shine Thank this. -
