I believe a town near Countryside / Lagrange IL had a sign like that. I think they just didn't want trucks going through town.

Not a designated route just means it's not what they prefer. The signs to look out for are "no trucks allowed" or "low bridge ahead". Everything else if fair game.

"not a designated truck route" means it's OK for trucks, but there are also other highways that are "more" suitable for trucks in the area....Make sense ?
