Testing cellular data speed rate.

Just did mine on ATT. It was 4.2 m

 

I get crap like that all the time when I'm over in my unlimited plan. "Over" "Unlimited"

They're all excited to push out their 5G when they don't have the capacity for what they have now

 

Verizon is not very dominant in rural areas of north Texas, especially the closer you get to the red river. In north Texas, if you're not in a Verizon sales market city limits or along an interstate highway, you won't get crap for data speed, regardless of plan you're on. Actually, I think that is a Sprint dominant market.

 

Mine is 44.8 mbps down and 10.0 mbps up with a 15 ping in Austin, Tx on Tmobile LTE.

Yes you are being throttled to 2G speeds.

I get about 8mbps on Cricket using ATT towers. Not bad considering I only pay 40 a month for unlimited everything and they have never throttled me. Last month I hit 160gb.

 

This is on hotspot from phone to Laptop.



This is why I love Verizon.

It works in more places that the other dont,.. and when you do have a signal,.. its usually pretty good.

On the down side,.. when the hotspot limit is reached,.. 600 kb/s hotspot is all you get and its awful. Still better than 64 kb/s after you go over on Sprint,.. and 128 kb/s when you go over on ATT. So as cruddy as Verizon's unlimited is,.. its still the better of the 4 carriers.

The only thing unlimited is the phone data which remains fast and steady,.. even beyond 100gb. If you can deal with the small phone screen.

The best I've seen so far.

80 with sprint or verizon
30 on att cell.
att hotspot which is supposed to be 5g capable and offers up to 1000.
30 on the 2.4 channel. 60 on the 5.0 channel. 100 in the sticks up north.

The note9 is suppose to have 2.4 and 5.0. Haven't tested the waters on it yet. But so far. It's better then the s8 was doing inside the house.

 

Are you talking about 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz wifi channels? If so,. that has nothing to do with peed and those channels have been used in hardware for over 10 yrs now. My Note4 has 2.4 and 5 ghz channels. It all depends on how the router is setup. 5ghz offers more penetration inside buildings for use in devices outside the house. Both 2.4 and 5ghz in my router use the N protocol and are both capable of 155 mbit. Never seen that fast,.. but its capable.

My wifi at home will do over 300mbit on both 2.4 an 5 ghz channels. I have Verizon Fios 300/300 service at home. Its fast,.. like stupid fast. Can upgrade to 1000mbit,.. but thats a bit pricey for me.
