What happened to "real" restaurants at truckstops? What stops still have them?

That’s a good one, so is the one off of 84 in Wendell, little diner that I can’t recall the name of.

This is one of the oldest truck stops I know of. Nothing special, outdated building , cheap fuel, cigs, and buckets of detergent. And good cooking, with mouthy waitresses. Last time I was there you could smoke inside.

 

Always a good meal at Pappys. Hate the showers at that truckstop though no toliet.

Over in Morris, Illinois off I-80.

While there were other good restaurants too, it's one of the best non-specialty restaurants that's truck accessible.

 

That's a gem right there.....food is affordable too!

 

Currently at the King City in Pasco.

 

I think Petro Joplin holds that title.

 

I don't know if it's the "kitchen", but I had the dinner buffet there one night when they had ribs, and it was outstanding.

 

I go to the Chili's if I'm in Morris. Fajita plate.
