My so-called "trainer" at Wil-Trans loved that place. We were there every week. Really. Every. Single. Time. We went through there, she stopped to gamble for hours. I don't remember her ever winning, though.

Yeah I'm ready to get back to the east coast,@Redtwin gonna need that Ohio run back lol.
Got a 2 stopper heading to Carolina,than it's hometime. -
I am having an existential crisis. I have discovered that when I press the button on my steering wheel to flash the marker lights, it only flashes the orange lights above my windshield. It does not flash the rear lights on the trailer at all.
So all of those times I thought I was thanking the trucks behind me when they let me merge, I was, in fact, being a rude jerk.
This is a major blow to my self-image as a trucker, let me tell you. -
I'm here to tell you fire ants are indeed the devil. Holy cow! Stepped in a nest while at that warehouse in NC Monday. Felt something stinging while I was helping a driver back up into a spot, looked down and my legs were covered in them in just a minute or two! Thought I was gonna die right there. I have about 15 really bad bites on my right ankle/lower leg and about 7-8 on my left, along with more that aren't so bad. And itch/hurt! Lawd, have mercy! Cortisone 10 is my bestest friend right now. At least I was standing and not sitting! That wouldn't have been a pretty picture!!!! So y'all make sure if you're down there you stay out of the grass. I was told there is a big problem with them around there.

Has everyone received detention they put in for?. I didnt get it on this last settlement even though I put in for it by the book on the QC. Now my DM did call to say it wouldn't be paid because it occurred within a 10hr break, but that has never been an issue before as my previous settlement had at least 2 detention payouts that occurred within a 10.
I guess I kinda understand the company reasoning that you were on a break so didnt really lose any running time, but as I see it I was conducting work (unhooking/hooking trailer, going in to sign bills etc) so it wasnt really a full 10hr break. On this particular instance it was a shipper where you had to leave trailer in a door then rehook to it when they are done. I got maybe 3hrs broken sleep between waiting up to see if they would load with enough time left to roll out and being woken up when trailer was ready. Lack of sleep is just part of the job sometimes, but detention certainly compensates for it if you are eligible..
I tried calling to see if this was a new policy (no detention on a 10) or just enforcing existing Abilene policy, but couldnt get through. I will be sure to ask the person directly next time I see them on the yard now that I finally know who approves detention. -
Is Abilene a good starter company
