    I’ve seen something similar recently... in West Memphis of all places.

    Granted it wasn’t on a coil :eek::eek:

    Some of those guys get preloads where the load is tarped but not secured...

    Not saying it’s right but I almost understand the reasoning...

    You see it a lot with McElroy and Cypress

    If I have a load that’s like 12/13ft tall I will throw a few straps over to help keep the tarp down some....

    I don’t see the point, unless it’s preloaded like mentioned above. If your tarps are tight then you’re good to go. If we ever got caught strapping over our tarps it would be a butt chewing like you can’t imagine. I saw a guy do it once, and a couple weeks later he wasn’t here anymore.

    I had a wallboard load one winter out of ky to ma where they tarp the load and you strap over it. When I got to receivers the straps were frozen to the tarp and the tarp was frozen around the load. All fun times.

    And P&S. Lots of their drywall loads are preloaded and pretarped by the shipper. About as close to pure drop and hook as flatbed gets.

    Would drive me completely batfeathers!

    Pretty sure a handful of those aforementioned companies advertise themselves as “90% drop and hook freight”

    I know Cypress does.

    I WISH!

    I did MORE work fixing a drop and hook load than I did on TWO liveloads!
