There are a lot of crappy trainers out there (some good ones too) and the companies know who they are. The companies figure if you want trained bad enough you will tough it out. Of course they are going to deny anything you say about the trainers....that would mean they knew all along that they were setting you up to fail. They try to make it look like it is all your fault. It just ticks me off to high heaven.:biggrin_25516:

Oh, I hear ya. I'll definitely take that opportunity if it goes through. I talked to the 'boss' man and he didn't get back to me today. I guess the background qualification process takes 2-3 weeks, so we shall see. I did talk with the EEOC and briefly talked with the Dept. of Labor.... I only had 2 weeks of training left, and I could have teamed up with my husband. Now, because of that jealous, racial piece o' ##### trainer I had, I have to wait for oh, about 4 more months before we'll be in a truck together. Never dreamed in a million years I'd be in a situation to file discrimination charges for being WHITE! What's the world commin' to?! :angry7:

You don't have to tell me!! lol I've just been steamin', the more I think about it. I'm not letting em' get away with it that easy, nor will I just put up with that kind of treatment.... it's just not right! Nothin' pisses me off more than unethical practices in a workplace that's supposed to be professional.

I've been chatting with the Fed Ex guy here and there, and I have no doubt that things would be MUCH better with him..... very nice guy!

    Vick,

Hope things go well for you and hubby. I feel for you and I would suggest making a call to the ACLU. Also, file for unemployment when you can. Good luck and let us know if the Fed-Ex gig works out.

    Soon2betrucking,

I'm sorry you you have to be such an idiot to this nice person trying to make living in this economy. Stop insulting others.

Thanks Hunter!! I've never heard of the ACLU, but I'll check it out!

As for the idiots out there, they just don't have the intelligence or mentality to comprehend what's going on.

what does anyone exspect from trucking today??it has turned into a homeless job filled with alot of nasty people..

I am sorry but most drivers are not clean, hygenic people.very few actually take care of themselves, and i mean very few.

Just my opinion of observing this industry for 20 years.it gets nastier every year....they hire alot of people that are very desperate and at the brink of homelessness and sucicide, not to mention very desperate to pay there bills they all ready have...

AGAIN I WILL SAY THIS.TRUCKING IS NOT THE INDUSTRY IT WAS 25 YEARS AGO...ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE 20 YEARS TO LATE FOR WHAT ONCE A PROMISING CARREER...

Ya know, that was totally uncalled for. Were you there in the truck with 'em? Saw everything that happened? Heard everything that was said? Do you even drive?

When you've been out there for a while, then maybe you'll learn there is NO room for anything this so called "trainer" did. Someone trying to learn, to get a job, to better themselves, shouldn't have to put up with BS from "trainers", companies, and people who troll message boards.

In alot of ways i am with you on this one phili...Trucking is not for sissy's...Its a tough life and at times a rough life on the road....

I learned to drive in N.Y.C. AND N.J. AND SOUTH PHILI..It was very rough in that R-model mack and my trainer was an old timer o/o from the streets...lol,lol

He was a very ''tough man'' and very hard on me.Back then they would knock ya in the back of the head when you screwed up,but you learned...I was with him for a long time before i even went alone....trained very well. Not just how to drive, but i had to learn how to fix the truck with my ''monkey suit'' on....that sucked...lmao

I tell people my 1st sleeper was a peice of plywood layed across the seats of the R-MODEL MACK...And it was...I was pissed when he told me to bring my pillow and a sleeping bag...lol...And there i was in the south bronx and south phili delivering meat at 3 a.m....Tough a.z.z. old timers i tell ya..

:biggrin_2553:Today Everyone wants to be ''pampered '' and ''coddled'' in trucking...:biggrin_2553:lol,lol.....They want the lap of luxery...Its the sign of the times...

And then when you do get tough on them today they go ''crying'',quit or call the police on ya...lmao...

Now that you and i got tough on her,all the others will be mad at us and ''come to her rescue''...lmao

yes, as a matter of fact i do drive, i drive in the nort east part of the country, where most people dont wanna drive, or dont like driving a 53 with a sleeper, jumped right into, no exp driving such a big truck before. got hired on to my comp and put right into the NE, boston, nyc, the new england states where the streets are half the size compared to the rest of the country. only been driving bout a year, accident free. if you ever drive in the NE, you no how hard it can be, i hear it all the time on cb how much people hate driving over here....thats fine, ill do what they wont do over here. im otr now, trying to stay on the east coast as long as i can, im used to the traffic, the really bad roads, the tight tiny itty bitty streets, the mean and rude people of ny,

so yes i do drive, i new i was going to get some back-lash here,
vick tried to get in with my company. and they denied her cause she was not trained on a 10spd, i was craking a joke on her, she's been updating me on her voyage with milan,
its a sure shame that this has happened to her, sounded like her husband and her really had solid plans to team drive with milan till they got enough exp to join a better company,

its even more of a shame that the school she attended only trained her on the auto-shift, it shouldnt be allowed, but thats security for that company, they train new drivers on those trucks, and then those people have a really hard time getting on with a nother company that has full 10 spd sticks.

i attended a 6 month program, 4 days a week, 5 hours a day, a total of 485 mandatory hours of training, i did a total of 525, i went to the morning class full time, and did afternoons and weekends just to get some extra practice in, it paid off really good.
itd be nice if all the newbs out here had to go through that amount of training. id bet anything the accident % would drop greatly.

Vickster, i hope i didnt hurt your feeling on what i said in my previous post.
if i did... well you can just tuffin up!!!!!!!!! :biggrin_25525:
