I have searched through all of the headings to find a place to ask a question and I cannot find anywhere to ask this particular question. I have been driving for 18 years. I am just wanting to know that anyone has ever gotten the traffic citation in the City of Palmetto in the state of Georgia for going through a non designated truck routes. If so, how much was the ticket. Per usual, the road was not Mark until you made the turn and the sign was three hundred feet down the road once you already made the turn. There was no signage beforehand on the previous road before you made the turn. I'm sure a bunch of y'all are familiar with this concept. While I am sure it is part of their budget to collect money from truck drivers for their poorly-planned signage, there's not a #### thing you can do about it unless you want to take $1,000 out of your pocket and take time off of work and take pictures and hire a lawyer and all that so we all just pay the #### ticket. And it's the year 2018 and you have to wait a week for it to get in the system. With all of that computer stuff they got in there police car, they can't type in the ticket and it goes right into the system immediately? WTF? I was saving up to buy myself a new fancy $300 trucker GPS... But now I have to pay the stupid ticket instead...
Citation in the City of Palmetto in Georgia non truck route, cost?

try calling the county office and just ask the fine amount. try talking with the DA's office for a (say) tail light ticket, cuz you do not know the severity of this one, and how many points on your CDL you can get.
all they want is the money, the charges are a moot point to them.
or yes, get a lawyer.....Puppage Thanks this. -
I got one there last year. 275 had three of us pull around the turn an county cop sitting their waiting for drivers. Stopped us right in the middle of the road.

I would have asked the cop about the lack of signage. Also, when he pulled you over, I would have said "yes officer, I see the sign, now if you'll spot me I'll back up and get down the road on the proper highway."
Diesel Dave, nax, bryan21384 and 4 others Thank this. -

This is always my biggest fear. What's the best thing to do in that situation? Turn around? What if you can't? Be really careful and back up?
Either way good luck.
BTW, just because you have GPS does not mean it will show up on your GPS as non-truck route.jammer910Z Thanks this. -
Sorry too say this but i run nothing but the metropolitan area of Atlanta for the last 2 years and had my run ins with varing law enforcement there. Most wont cut you slack and neither will the courts. I got the same ticket in villa rica on a rd where the sign was less then noticeable. No reduction in ticket a fine of 265. And 4pts on my sc license cause it is the same ticket as running a red light.
