So I just turned 21 and have 28-30 months of verifiable work history. From the Orlando area.
5 jobs. 1st lasted 7 months , 2nd lasted 3 months , 3rd lasted 4 months , 4th lasted 9 months. Currently going on 6 months with my current company. It's construction , so people are in and out very often .
Biggest gap is before the first job. Around 6 months. Was baby sitting my younger brothers. Also job seeking
2 week gab between 3rd and 4th.
And a 2 month gap between between my 4th & 5th job. (Spent it looking for a job)
Have a squeaky clean driving record.
Have a squeaky clean criminal record.
No drugs. Never fired from a job
How much will work history gaps hurt new young drivers?
I have seen some stories where students are sent home due to employment gaps? And yeah, I know they are required to go back 3 years. But why send home a potential employee soley over work history..Am I too worried about nothing? I know prime hates "job hoppers"..
Any companies you guys suggest?

I job hopped like you did at 21... it's normal while you find your niche in life.
Just account for all your time employment and gaps, just being honest. I bet you are fine. They are required to go back 10 years, as far as I know.
With 3 years of driving experience with just your class D license, FFE (Frozen Food Express) will take you on at 21 years of age, get you trained and put you in a truck. They have a terminal in south Orlando FL.Dapro Thanks this. -
10 years is required.
For gaps, put "unemployed". Prior to the 3 years put "student".DTP Thanks this. -

Doubtful. They know you're young and just starting out.

Carriers are getting their fill of finicky people who are unhappy with anything.
The other side of the coin... Many places are awful to work at. Either you join in the fight. Or you leave. One way or the other.
Prime wants people who are serious.
Magnum is very good and subjective. You might try them. Talk with Tony.
If I were you. I’d say that I had no idea what I wanted to do for a living. I needed to work. So accepted and did some jobs while trying to figure out what my career might be. I seriously think that Truck Driving could be my career. I want to give it a good try.
Just to carry on.. When I talked to Nikki at Prime. Told her my last 15 years employment wasn’t good. If she were to talk to them. She would think my name is Cybil. The multiple personality girl. That’s not because of me. That’s because of them. I can’t do anything about them. Besides, many of them aren’t even in business anymore. ....She still didn’t like it. So I told her if she wanted to see stability in me. I worked for one company for 18 years. Gave her the contact info. She said: You’re in. Let us know when you’re ready. -
Either way, read the questions on the applications carefully and answer honestly, but don't reveal anything that isn't ask for.
Do the online applications before any phone calls. Follow with a phone call in a few days if you haven't been contacted. Start with the companies that have the better reputations, then work your way down. Even with a less than desirable company, you will reach your goal of acquiring a cdl and the first step to a great career.
CFI - www.cfidrive.com - @Ultratowel is from Orlando and new there.
FFE (Frozen Food Express) - good outfit & @TravR1 already left a post for you.
KLLM - has their own cdl school and also owns FFE.
CRST - hires FL students & you have to run teams your firsts 10 months.Dapro Thanks this. -
WesternPlains Thanks this.

10 years is required only if you were a dot cdl driver which the op wasn't. They only care 3 about a 3 yr history. The op was 11 ten years ago
