    No i am lying...lol,lol 42
Its just a different place i grew up and different era i guess..Being brought up on the east coast big city was actually hell..lmao...I just see things different i guess.

:biggrin_25520:I guess when you come from the streets you tend to see things a little different i suppose.:biggrin_25520:

We grew up dirt poor and very tough and being around 8 million people you had to be tough and fight to just get a job to have food. You feel me.?

We did jobs that no one wanted to make a buck and were just happy to go to work and survive.:yes2557:

Todays trucking is so ''cushie'' from how i learned and broke into this business.Today its filled with luxury comparing the 2.

I'm farm raised, so I know all about hard work. Didn't deal with the city until I was already out of high school.

Different scenarios, but similar results. I didn't start in the industry until 1999, and have been out of it for awhile already. I don't think I'd get back in the seat even if I could.

I'm the same age as you 2 also. I learned to drive truck in a Cabover single bunk IH with spring ride and no power steering, and I think newbs today have far far better trucks now, with autos, electronic, and big bunks, etc

But I, and probably many here, would opt for that old cabover, before sitting 5 minutes in a loaded 2009 conventional equiped with human garbage in the passanger seat yelling and screaming at ones every move.

But in all fairness, as much easier physicaly as it is to learn this sport today, I think it's all traded back in the way of the job being more mentaly taxing than say 20 years ago. To many people have their fingers in the drivers' pie so to speak, and nobody has their back.

I did the same thing, sleeping across the seats on a board. Ya know what I was? STUPID! For letting the company put me into situations where that was the only option. Letting a company push and push til that's all that was left. The old days? You can keep 'em.....
