You're reading too much into it. They stare simply because it's free entertainment. And they're glad it's not them struggling to get backed in. As far as not helping... That's just being a dousch.

That’s called “let me watch and see if he hits anything” by idiots with nothing better to do.

If you were backing next to me I would of got out to help so that you wouldn’t back into me. ESPECIALLY if you were in the orange, swift, or Werner etc truck.

If you weren’t backing directly next to me and I saw you having a tough time, I probably would of got out to help you as well. The golden rule lives here

I’m going to be brutally honest. If a person is demonstrating they are completely clueless about backing fundamentals, I probably won’t have the patience to instruct a full Backing 101 class to someone who already presumably failed it once. But if I see they’re at least sort of on the right track, I’ll provide a second set of eyes and give guidance cues.

If they’re just way off, I’m going to suggest they abort, circle around, and make another approach. If they decline the advice, I’m going back to my truck unless they’re trying for a spot next to me, then I’ll do whatever I gotta do.

I back people in all the time.

The ones staring at you will start threads on here about your struggle, and how awesome they are.

I can hold my own with pretty much anyone backing, and just like you I was up for 18 or 20 hours cause I had to drive at night this last run.

I looked like a frigging amateur I'm sure getting into a spot at a Peelot at 0400, cause I was also wtf tired.

But some guy did get out and spot me.

You just do a good job, the rest will take care of itself.

My guess would be they were watching out for there trucks and probably just to tired to bother getting out and helping especially once the saw the Canadian number plates on your truck.

    - In the parking lots because they have nothing better to do.

    - In the truck stop because they’re queer as a football bat
