I have a headlight assembly on my T680 that keeps melting bulbs. Literally the plastic housing for the bulb itself keeps melting on the driver's side. It has melted the female end of the socket from the truck to the bulb. I had to cut off the melted socket and just use basic female prong connectors on the end of the wires where the socket once was and connect them to the male prongs on the bulb. It melts the plastic around the bulb base in about 2 weeks and I have to replace the bulb. I've tried different brands but they all end up sludge that I have to scrape out of the housing. I've talked with a few mechanics about it and they claim it's the assembly not the truck. So I figured I'm going to buy a new assembly but if I'm going to do that i want to get something different. But guess what? It appears to me that there is not a single headlight manufacturer out there that makes a T680 headlight Assembly. Or am I just retarded? Are the T660 assemblies the same as the T680 because anytime I look for T680 assemblies I get #### loads of hits for T660 assemblies and nada for a T680.

No. They are different. Wiring problems on T680 forward lamps is a common problem.

Is the problem due to the assembly wiring or the truck wiring?

Get an LED bucket and make sure they're mis-aimed so you can blind me like all the rest...

Don't even need LEDs man. These headlights are so easy to adjust the aim. Clockwise to blind, counterclockwise to see. I test my aim by seeing how far away I can make signs shine.

The LEDs run cooler, so no more melting. I had a 660 that would do that on the right side only.

It's hit or miss with LEDs and brands. Got a recommended brand for LEDs? I have OPT7 LEDs on my pickup and they have a fan built onto the bulb for each headlight. High quality but no amount of grinding on the mount could get it to fit the t680 slot.

Ya, you'd have to get the whole bucket.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. And by bucket do you mean the assembly or is that a sarcastic term as well? Problem with getting a "whole bucket" is that no one makes any for a T680 other then factory.

That's what the mechanics refer to the whole assembly as. On the 660 it fried the connector and they had to replace the whole thing.
