One day, sooner than later I hope, this 30 month issue will be behind me. Strange symptoms constantly confusing diagnosis. And it's not by any means with mild popping and stumbling, gets violent.
Changed it. A year ago. Shop said doesn't need calibration. Talked to Peterbilt who says " should be calibrated " if only the sensor changed and not sensor / pedal combination. He also said it makes only a tiny difference. I'm gonnà get it calibrated anyway, seeing as I need to know it's tip top. I see someone saying there's a shim on cam sensor. Hmmm. Wonder if my C-15 was shimmed ( or didn't need shim and was) when my new cam sensor was put in.....
I didn't see what serial# engine you have. Do you have a cam and crank sensor ? That will be a 70 pin ecm.
I have a 3406e cat 600hp in a w900L. For some reason, and it started all at once, nothing was done to it, literally parked it over the weekend and git it back out to leave and as soon as i got out on highway, and started accelerating, the whole truck started to violently shake, or buck. I've never felt something that violent in it. Back off accelerator and it smooths out, get back into it and around 1400rpm it does it again. It's not a vibration, its a buck. We have checked everything. Anyone have any ideas?
