$9-12 per mile not including fuel surcharge

They're quoting that because a hotshot set up isnt considered otr so they quote you as a new company.

I'm around 13k for first year O/O with Progressive. Sounds like your rate is in line. Not good but none of us get a good rate at first I'm told.
Good luck! -
That's kind of not bad at all. What is your location?

Tennessee but I got my insurance through CIS out of Ohio. They are solid. They will shop for you so if they can do better than Progressive they will. Give them a call.
Just FYI, NO affiliation, just a satisfied customer. There are a bunch of insurance places called CIS too if you Google it so use this link:

I started a hotshot operation in Feb. 2013. Also with Progressive. No accidents, tickets of any kind, or claims.
2013--$5100
2014--$5500
2015--$6500
2016-$7000
2017-$10,000
2018-quoted $12,000
2018 switched to FLD120 & dropped to $6,500.
Coverage amounts have not changed. They just kept saying, "rates are up all over the country".. My agent also claims it's cheaper to insure a semi because "anyone can't just jump in the seat & drive it", which is a load of stool because my hotshot still required a class A to operate while tagged @ 36,000lbs..86scotty Thanks this. -
