Beware of USXpress!! I didn't take the advice given on this site and got screwed royally by good ole USX. I'm from florida and they simply pulled me into Tunnel Hill, Ga one day and said they are eliminating OTR solo drivers from florida, BUT, I could have this generous offer of teaming up with another florida driver (bear in mind I have my wife and dog with me which I have paid a $500 deposit so they could ride with me) or I could "lease" one of their trucks. The alternative was simply get out of the truck and turn it in "INSTANTLY", no matter that I was 500 miles from home. I had to rent a vehicle to get my family and belongings home. These are some EVIL people and all I can say is don't be surprised at anything they do to you. If you can find another job "BEFORE" they screw you it would be the wise thing to do. They even tried to stop my unemployment saying that I quote: "Just up and quit". You should also know that I had absolutely no trouble getting my unemployment once I told them the truth of what really happened. I was told that USX has a very bad reputation with DOT and most of the southeast state governments. Let's stick together out there and let everyone we can know just how evil and disgusting USXpress treats drivers and mechanics. Their own evil ways will bring them down!

    CommDriver Thanks this.

Be for warned the USX Occupational Accident Insurance policy underwritten by Old Republic Life insurance company is WORTHLESS. This policy does not cover you as stated in the orentation at Tunnel Hill GA for being a " Workmans' Comp". Yes most of the drivers forced to turn in trucks durring the USX "team or lease" program provides this OAI policy for its lease operators and it has a lot of problems, ie: 7 day waiting period from the day they are notified that you are on TTD. 104 weeks of past payroll verfication is required before they will issue TTD payments. Denial of routine doctor visits and referals, non repayment for milage to and from doctors, medication not covered,in other words the policy stinks, Yes USX you have screwed the operaters again with this worthless policy. Do not accept this policy, read the policy before you elect to sign up for it. Drivers this is not a state sponsered WC complient policy. The state can not help you. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN !! Attorneys will not represent you. There is no LONG TERM TTD for this policy. You will be broke and needing medical care before you will get anyone to help you. Do not fall for this ploicy stay away, select the standard workmans comp policy for the state sponsered for $20-$30 more,.

Good Godamighty, this is one of the apps I put in thru the Katlaw school to get requalified. Maybe it's actually a GOOD thing that I've not heard from any of the companies yet.
I'd probable have a call if I'd not excluded Werner, Covenant, Swift and England. But I have my dignity and intend to keep it. :biggrin_25511:

Last August, 2008, I quit Eastern Freightways out of NJ for a (what I thought was) a good job opportunity to drive for US Xpress. They paid my greyhound bus fare to Ohio. I was in my 3rd and final day of Orientation, very excited, thinking that I was "in", when they suddently cut me, with no explanation. I was heartbroken, and even more so when I was told that they would not pay my return fare to NJ, where I live.
I had just enough money left on a credit card to get home. What if I hadn't? I am a middle-aged woman. Do you think it would have been safe for me to hitch-hike back to NJ? Is it safe for ANY woman to hitch-hike? Hell, it's not even safe for a man, but anyone with half a brain knows that women are victimized every 8 seconds.
They basically tried to throw me to the wolves, and that practice should be made illegal. If I was forced to hitch-hike, I could have been raped, killed. And the saddest part is that they wouldn't have cared. Avoid this company like the plaque. They are EVIL EVIL EVIL people!!!!! :biggrin_25510:

On the upside, sounds like they truly don't discriminate.

Thats why Werner In Omaha is locked down like a maximum security jail, and little slits in the window just enough to pass paper thru...
One day someone will get pissed enough to go full out postal and "thin the herd" of these
maggots that treat people like vermin.

I do not support violence either, but, if someone decides to pull a "Columbine" I sure hope they get the top dogs responsible for ruining so many lives like trash instead of the front line innocent people.

Guys I understand your passion for the situation
But the Truckers Report does not condone violence of any kind
Please refrain from even mentioning it
