Just hate the way these newer trucks look

I never said anything about resale value.

 

Werner Enterprises one of the biggest around had a huge fleet of Longnose trucks. Werner trucks back when CL was in charge were always blinnged out way more then there competitors Schneider, and JB and they managed to become 6th largest in the country.

 

Well you did say" long hoods are a thing of the past" did you not? Well then resale value should have tanked a long time ago. Get it?

 

I can't drive these aerodynamic trucks. I can't see the dang hood, and I have issues with depth perception. So aero trucks and me just don't work.

Company I work for has all classic style trucks, and I can assure you we're a very profitable 15 truck operation.

 

Here is what I said, "Today it is fuel economy, that long nose hood is a thing of the past unless you need one for a certain application like oil field work or heavy haul, etc."

I miss my 2004 Pete, I loved that truck, but that Cat Bridge motor was a wallet killer. That was several trucks ago, and fuel was under $2 a gallon. I would not drive that truck today, as it no longer fits my particular application and again, the fuel mileage. And I would not knock someone for driving or owning one if it works for them, ain't none of my business.

 

Yeah it's a brick as far a aerodynamics,but very easy to work on. Fuel cost wasn't as big a deal back them. I'd run from Baltimore to Seattle on a $700 draw,still have plenty of money left for beer and food.
To me most new trucks look like most new cars,very mundane.

Well its your post, can see a good plenty in other jobs besides oil fields etc. Look around. Just curious, what does a long hood have to do with heavy haul? You can get heavy rears, heavy steer axle and double frame set ups in quite a few models that are not long hoods. Same big engine hp also. You know the length of the hood has nothing to do with hp, right? But its all good. Think what you want.
