One of the reasons that Swift is "picked on" (boo-hoo) is that the number of "challenged" drivers is higher there, than most (save for most of the mega-carriers). That's who they hire and then put in place as a "trainer".
Why is it our attitude that makes it bad for the rest of you? Why isn't your attitude called into question for not saying anything and then defending the company, when it's the company that's hiring the SWHs and putting them out there and those same SWHs give you a bad name? Police your own. Do your best not to be one of the many clueless steering wheel holders out there and become a driver.
Prime example of why Swift Drivers have the reputation they do!

Thanks for the pics man. He was definitly a newb and he either was not comfortable backing up or just didn't have the hang of it yet. Either way his "trainer" should not have allowed that to happen. I have done some "innovative" parking over the years but never like that.

I am not defending Swift, I was defending your labeling of drivers, unless your the only perfect driver out there people make mistakes and they always do not use the best judgement, that does not make them a bad driver.
I am not perfect but I do take pride in what I do, and since I was fortunate enough to have a husband that was a great teacher I have manange to keep a clean and perfect driving record. I just try to help drivers out that don't know something or have made mistakes and even tell the drivers that are just complete idiots when they show they are one.
You will see more mistakes by drivers for mega companies because there are more of them, and for the most part they are the starter companies for someone wanting to learn how to drive a truck. I suppose you knew everything when you were new and did not make mistakes.
Get use to the mega companies because they are going to be around for the duration. With the economy the way it is many people are turning to this industy, it might be slow but it will always be here.jbrown Thanks this. -
So for arguments sake we will say that every trainer has 12 "Trainees" Such as yourself every year so all of a sudden you have a dozen people rolling down the highway who have been taught such "Courteous" things as this.
Have you noticed that nowhere in this whole deal have I laid blame on the Driver/Student?
Why do you think that is?
I agree that if you are planning on continuing your career with "Swift" you better get a little thicker skin!
I highly doubt the way most in the industry look at your company will change overnight and incidents such as this will only feed the flame!
Do you honestly think he will do it again without thinking?
So by "My kind of attitude" you mean a driver who is constantly calling out to broke down trucks on the side of the road, and helping when I can. Or is it the fact that I am half running when fueling so the next guy can get in behind me, and get rolling.
I personally do my best to never leave my truck in anyway that may inconvenience the other drivers out there.
So the fact that I have the Stones to show a driver who obviously has no idea that there are others out here who deserve a little common courtesy, that his actions are not appreciated!
Sorry I really think you need to pull your head out, as this industry needs a little wake up call, and it will take all of us to do it!
If your not part of the Solution, you are a part of the Problem!
Sure I have better things to do, I could be driving 3 mph down the Interstate for the next 20 hours so I can make it to my 9:00 Am pickup 60 miles away tomorrow morning...
Thanks for coming out...

I have to agree with Steelerfan67 but not by what he said but because he is a Steeler fan.

ive seen prime drivers tear up way more then swift.andyour right everyone out there with anysize to them has drivers that do stupid crap.
If anyone thinks any mega carrier is better then the other your crazy it is the carrier but it is ALSO some of the drivers/students should not be in any truck period the one poster saying it is the carrier and not the driver is wrong.
You get some clowns that shoudnt be anywhere near a truck they havent got enough common since to tie there shoes much less drive a truck.
And then you got the other drivers the ones that know what there doing but dont care they pull in anyway they can and run in to pee or wash etc and dont care how are where they park long as it serves there purpose.
This part I blame the truckstops if i owned one id give them 2 warning calls third the truck would be towed it wouldnt take long to correct this problem quick. These guys get out of the shower and got to pay a big tow bill.Joetro Thanks this. -
I am parked up in the back row, nice and close to the open field so me and the Pup can go for frequent walks/runs (she runs...I walk), and I will just hang out in this well optioned truckstop cleaning the truck, and will leave with lots of time in the morning to be on time for my pickup.
I realize that we will never get everyone on the same page but thats life, and sometimes in life it takes someone letting people know that their actions are not appropriate for them to change them...
Who Knows -
Yeah, we have to get used to the mega companies, just like we have to get used to the Wal-Marts and Verizons of the world where the outfit is so big and have so many customers, and have driven so many of the good smaller companies under, the one-on-one experience of the old days is all but gone.
Yep, many are turning to the industry and the mega carriers are putting them to work, whether they have any business driving a truck or not.
