The other is an 02 freightliner columbia.
There's a lot of trucks at this place, internationals as well. There was an International Eagle, '99, midroof. Wasn't much of a looker but seemed mechanically sound, 19k, probably take less. I got in and wasn't feeling it. I really am not crazy about the old styles, small cab, and wood finish.
Anyone wanting to take a gander can look at economytransportgroup. All the inventory is there and it's not a terrible amount.

Hmmm.... Well, that sucks on the KW.... but then again, if you were prepared to pay the original price, and they will fix everything on there, why not? That way you know what was fixed, and you've got a record of it. Tires and everything else ok on it? Personally, not sure if I'd take the $7k discount because you are going to need everything fixed anyway, and chances are, the dealer is getting that price to repair at a discount.

Tires, brakes, everything you can see is near top notch. A lot of chinese rubber though.

yeah I looked at who you said you were going to lease onto.I never heard of them.
You might be
stuck hauling organics. Ie I think that means food products.. Not sure. Please before you do this talk to one of their O/O. If they have faith in thier operations they should have no problem doing this..
having a dump that needs to be cleaned for every haul is a pain in the ###.Have you ever seen the lines at a truck wash? 3 or 4 loads and a wash out every time your talking about some cash... And also lots more dead head. You dump at point "A" have to run 50 miles to point "B" And go reload at point C where ever that is.
Maybe you should look at Bruce Oakley. You pull thier trailers and they are totally O/O and very strong in your area if i remember corectly
PharmPhail Thanks this. -
I think you're thinking of Bruce Reynolds. I've heard a few people talk about them but I haven't been able to find anything on the net. No I don't think eclipse does food. Dirt, gravel, glass... those are the things that were mentioned. What other kinds of things do these dumps haul? It sounds like an open top container with tarps.
-
Open tops can haul a lot of things. We had racks in ours so we could haul coils. Scrap metal. Coal. alloys, slag, sludge, fly ash. Shread from scrap yards. Clinkers from cement plants there are nameless things. If your not hauling food products then the wash out is pretty much null, just carry a broom and a shovle.

Ok well the last week has been frustrating to say the least. Having the dealership trying different ways to get the financing done through the bank has cost me over a week of more waiting. Today I called him and told him I really needed a VIN to get my insurance rolling, since I have to wait 2-4 weeks from that point on to even get the rest of the requirements done.
So we settled on the Kenworth and will work it out this week as price vs. repairs, but I did get my insurance done today.
For those that were asking, the policy was:
$6,332.00
$1,583.00 down, and 9 payments of $558.36 a month at 13.75%Baack and wildbill123 Thank this. -

Yeah I know, this is getting scary. I'm going to owe about $640 a week in truck, trailer, and insurance payments before even fuel.
I really hope the math holds up... -
Do you have any work lined up yet?
