I wish I knew what that meant. But then I can never tell who the sucker at the poker table is either. :biggrin_25526:

THis is my first post on this site - I'm not a trucker. I'm a small business owner with a pallet I need to get from GA to CO worth 5K. I'm considering The Freight Rate Co and I understand they're a third party logistics company...so they're subbing the work out to you drivers - eh? anyway, are they reliable? how does insurance work? their rate seems so low (about one-third) compared to quotes I've gotten from more popular carriers (I don't have accounts with any). Any advise would be truly appreciated.

Called Estes - I've had good luck with them in the past but, without an account, they want $700 to ship 300# from GA to CO...that made me look at The Freight Rate Co.

The rates are really bad out there. I would love to see the brokers forced to disclose that info. What about trucking companies who hire owner operators and claim they are paying 85% or 75% of the total, do owner ops have the right to audit them?

I have a list I have been maintaing for over two years. Over 1000 entries of bad brokers, slow pay, no pay, slimy, skimming, out of business. It has been growing like crazy over the past 2 months.

at one time i worked for a major brokerage and we never ever brokered freight on a percentage. it was always per mile or flat rate. and when FSC came about, ALWAYS gave fuel money to the carrier.
now, this is only my opinion understand, but why wouldnt the carrier take freight from only a broker who paid a rate per mile or flat rate. that way you know just exactly what you're getting.
i would imagine that the list of bad brokers would sadly be more than the good ones.

I am working on becoming a freight broker agent and would really like some opinons from you drivers on who the better brokers would be to work for. I have no experience in this feild but I do have great respect for you drivers and wouldn't want to be tied up with a broker that doesn't feel the same. I only want to work for one that treats their drivers right. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks so much
