Theory - noun - a coherent group of tested general propositions, commonly regarded as correct, that can be used as principles of explanation and prediction for a class of phenomena

A scientific theory is a not the same as a layman's theory. It is not a guess, but the best knowledge we have.

Sorry, allergic to cats and dogs. I'm at home for the weekend. There are four computers here in front of me. All to maintain a hobby. When I go to drive my truck on Monday, one of my laptops goes with me. Also use an iPad and iPhone X w/256 gig of memory. I am a techie that drives trucks

Most drivers figure that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. I disagree. They say "Work smarter. Not harder", yet more drivers hear it and go on the same way. I drive smarter, because we are paid by the mile. If a commission driver sits in traffic, they earn very little. So I don't sit in it.

One day there was two of us up in Wisconsin getting our trailers loaded. The other driver left to go down south. Told him that I'd call him the next morning. When I was about to take off I checked all four of my GPS's for information of what lies ahead. There was a construction backup on I-294 in Chicago, so I went down I-39 south. It was about 40 miles out of my way. Other drivers go straight down 294 and sit in traffic. The next morning I call the other driver to see how far south he was. He said that he sat in traffic for most of the day before and was in Gary, Indiana. While I was 380 miles south of that. He asked me how I was able to do that. Told him that we would get together later and I would teach him how to work smarter. Not harder/

If you're going to plagiarize a web site then paste it here verbatim in an attempt to make yourself look smart, the least you could do it provide a source link. You would think that somebody with such a high IQ would know that.

    Here, I helped you out.

You left out the second (and equally as important) half of the definition of theory.

"a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural and subject to experimentation, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact."

When your muffler bearing goes out do you need to ask permission to change it or does your DM manage your accounting principals on a magnitude of greater or lessor quality than the last squirrel that chewed its nuts into pieces of 8 and then the doctor said you had a brain tumor,.. but you were already infected and forgot the question so you had to eat your lunch alone in the back seat while the dentist took out a Samsung Galaxy S9 and claimed it was faster than a Pentium 4 but you argued that no one flies TWA anymore and that his bad breath was causing you to drive too fast in the warehouse which has poorly lit halls of roller skates by Emily Dickinson and her dog Pluto.

    Sorry. My mistake.

"A scientific theory is an explanation of an aspect of the natural world that can be repeatedly tested, in accordance with the scientific method, using a predefined protocol of observation and experiment."

    Not a guess.

There was theory once that the earth was flat. Another that Ra guided a boat through the sky every day.
Leeches would break a virus and fever.
    Bleeding patients would reduce illness.
Sacrificing humans to a volcano will keep the gods happy for a good harvest.

These climate change fruit loops remind me of the last one. They will kill, steal, lie, destroy whatever it takes to save the planet. Bunch of simpletons trying to make everyone else live according to their whims. News flash the planet will be just fine.

    Fun stuff here.
I drive 5 mph over the posted speed limit 5 days a week in a 7 state area on city, county, state and Interstates at 80,000 lbs.
Haven't so much as been looked at twice by local, state or DOT in the last 35 years!
But ya got me thinking about the environment so I think I'm gonna back her down a bit...lol
    Thanks for this valuable information
