I'm going fishing today with a friend who works for EPA in Sacramento. I'll ask him about the speeding ticket thing. I think I already know what his answer will be.

    Entertaining thread.

The only way we will dodge global warming (if you believe burning of fossil fuels are the cause of it) is obviously to stop burning them. Ok, the only way that will actually happen on a global scale is if it is more cost effective to use whatever the new, environmentally friendly way to do it is. We aren't anywhere near that.

If the moneyed countries of the world manage to artificially make it more expensive to burn the fuel and we are all driving electric cars that are powered from windmills and solar farms, heating our homes by electric, everything on electric, guess what happens to the price of oil? It goes way down. All the poor countries of the world will now be able to have their own industrial revolutions, build their road networks and build exactly what we have now. And what are the liberals going to say now? You aren't allowed to do that? You must not do what we did? (because we already burned more than the planet can handle and F-ed it up, therefore YOU can't build your nation..LOL ya ok! Buy our electric cars instead(they can't afford)) The industrial revolution and the internal combustion engine in and of itself is probably at the top of the list as to making every aspect of life easy and awesome, to grow a civilization out of nothing. Imagine where we'd be without it. So there is my point of view on the matter. We aren't going to stop burning fossil fuels (globally). So we might as well be the ones using it. Not to mention, all the preachers of this whole idea; do they drive electric cars? Do they never idle their truck? Do they drive 45 mph? Save the planet? Put your money where your mouth is.

    Carry on...

Like all the celebrities that get on board with global warming and own 500 sports cars, jets, homes with big sprinkler systems and burning up tons of energy?

@tucker, is your old Chevrolet with that small block environmentally friendly? :p

Did you not learn anything from Mack’s video?
Those pulling trucks run for about 45 seconds, my pickup averages 20 miles a day.
But semi trucks idle and drive all day every day, And if we can limit those emissions then I’ll have that clean air I like.
And I own enough trees that I provide the Earth with more oxygen then I use.

I believe when the world as we know it ends, it won't happen because of lax emissions requirements
