Or you could have stopped legally at 4 stops short of that. You chose to cheat and hide it as necessary, when in fact it was not.

Your earful to the Trooper would have been amusing. at the end I can hear him now "That is fine sir. No please sign here and press hard there are three copies" ;)

Personal conveyance is a guidance issue only and no state or particular officer has to abide by guidance. Pennsylvania has chosen to codify only the letter of the regulation into state law. Because of that they do not have to recognize personal conveyance, it is solely at the officer's discretion.

Until PC becomes an official duty status with a clear definition it will always be subject to officer opinion and state laws. Remember, each state must adopt the federal regulations into state law to enforce them.

True but off duty driving is exactly that. This in turn leaves room for interpretation. I own my truck. I'm using it for personal purposes which means I'm off duty. So while PC may not be recognized, if I'm not working but using my truck for personal reasons I can legally drive it on line 1. Also, the 100 air mile exemption could be even easier to use.

You can call it cheating or whatever the #### you want. The bottom line is, the HOS in its current form is not about safety. I am ####ing done with it.

You go ahead and eat as many #### sandwiches as you want. I’ve had my fill.

So long as you request the privilege of operating your business on a public road, you agree to abide the laws or pay the penalty.

You are choosing to disobey the law, and attempting to hide it through fraudulent statements. When you get caught it should cost you your operating authority and CDL in my opinion.
