Well my FM announced that we picked up a few lanes with Hershey... He also mentioned we signed another contract for moving loads between Laredo and Dallas for another unamed company.

Ive had a few loads into and around Dallas, and I dont think it will be a problem for you getting home.

I would just like to know if Prime is just a great company, will i get treated with respect, will they send you anywhere, do they keep there facilities and equipment in good shape, can you take the truck home, and will i see the house often, and also is there a rider policy. I know its alot of questions but im just curious. Thanks and be safe.:biggrin_25519:

We get lots of loads in and out of Texas... you sure you really want to move to the place? I hear the average IQ of Texas dropped by 99% on January 20th!

Very much so. Robert Low makes sure that everyone understands that their job and the companies success is based on what we, the drivers, do.

    Lower 48 and Canada.

Facilities... immaculate. Equipment, yes, but that depends on the driver as well. On the road it's up to you to get it in for service and keeping it clean. Never had a problem with a reasonable service request. Trailers should be washed with every load, and they spring for the tractors twice a month.

As long as you have a secure, legal place to park it. Generally they don't want you going through the house with a load, but will find a place to drop an empty trailer if you can't take it with you.

As often as you like... depending on how you like dead presidents in your pocket. Generally speaking they want you to be out 3 to 5 weeks at a time. And that, my friend, is about what you have to do to make some money in OTR - with the emphasis on 5 weeks out. For company drivers, you get 1 day of home time accrued per week, but you are only allowed to take a maximum of 4-days at any one time without extenuating circumstances.

Lease operators have more flexibility in how they take their home time, but the lease payments continue to happen - so it's easy to get a couple of thousand "in the hole" if you take a couple of week off without generating the cash to cover it first. The corolary on the company side is a short paycheck - you get paid when the wheels are turnin'. In any case, it takes a day or two to get back into the freight lanes.

Yes, with minimum age restrictions for company types. No pets for company drivers. All you have to do is fill out a form, and have it approved by your fleet manager. This can be done by FAX.

    You are completely welcome!

Hey ironpony , great infomation from the questions from Drop'n'hook, having these questions answered is a lot of good info especially for us folks who want to get in with a good respectable company . I think that everyone just wants the respect from a company and in return we (the divers) will give it our all for the company

Thanks and be safe out there
