Werner sells there trucks at around the 400k mile mark so it would be kind of impossible to do that........

And why would you want to constantly switch trucks. Thats a day or 2 you could be driving you are spending switching your stuff from one tractor to the other o_O.

I know some of those FrankenWeiners are hitting 700k+ because I can see the parts are just about to fall off since the company driver could probably care less.

What I should be asking is why would a driver become a MM (million miler) driving for Werner on a crappy account like DG? -are the people nutters or what?

I feel it's neat driving different trucks and different transmissions since the Columbia, DD60 and Eaton 10 are fairly boring. = A super10 and Cat would be
    a definite upgrade.

First time we swapped trucks it took half a day to MOVE stuff from truck a to truck b not to mention getting it all put away sheesh. You never realize how much crap you buy on the road till its time to move trucks.

Hi there, I am pretty sure you don't drive for Werner or you would know about the maintainence plans that they have and when they sell their trucks so I would imagine there would be very few that reach 700K.

What's wrong with the DG account? It's steady every day work which is a nice thing to have in this economy.

As a previous poster stated it would take you a day or so to change your things from truck to truck unless you didn't have anything to take with you except fresh undies and a clean pair of socks. LOL:biggrin_25525:

You can make a good living but it's not going to be the first few years and that goes with any of the trucking companies today, unless you go with a union LTL carrier.
Out of curiosity why is having your name on the truck important?
But thank you for your insight about the recruiters, it gives me something to look for when I talk to one. Moving lips...:biggrin_25525:

The only way a werner truck would reach 700k is if it was an o/o that was leasing to werner. Werner sells there trucks at around 400k miles and when they are 3 or so years old.

I don't really see how mileage is a big issue tho.... my truck is nearing 400k miles but it has 0 things wrong with it. The one time it did break down on the road ( one of the break chambers was leaking air when the parking break was off). I was approved to have it fixed at a truck stop within 30mins of sending the maintenance request in.

Mileage is not that important if the truck was well maintained. The truck i drive has worked for 3 different companys and has 1.4 millon miles on it. It had an in-frame rebuild on the motor (love my 515 Detroit) about 2 years ago and runs like a champ. I love all the o/o out on the road with ther Petes with C-15 Cat motors braging how much power they have, Then they get P*^&ed off when a Werner trailer blows there doors off in the mountains and they all tell me there is no way that i have a Detroit motor because Cats have more power, Sorry fellas, Cats have power on the flatlands Detroits make power where it counts:biggrin_255:

For company drivers, The thing i hate hearing is "its not my truck, i don't care about it" You will care when you don't take care of that company truck and your sitting at a terminal for 2 weeks makeing 0$ while it gets fixed. I don't know about you guys, i like driving my truck makeing money, not waiting for it to get fixed. Some words of advice for the new guys.
