Oh yeah. I have a brand new wooden/chrome one that I got with the truck from the seller in the box still, but I am really wrestling with the thought of putting it on. I love the nostalgic look and the feel of the OEM KW wheel enough to leave it in, but some days I kinda wish I had the new 18" wheel instead of this 22" one.
It's one of those pretty much ridiculous little things in life that wouldn't affect a single thing no matter which way I went, LOL. I look at some of the stuff guys do with their time and money to a truck and wonder if their wives knew half of it, lol. The endless choices on chrome and accessories nowadays, right down to blinging out a dash that can cost a man over $500.00 in stupid plastic chrome bezels and switch extensions or covers...all for what in the end? Bragging rights about how much you "invested" in something that nobody else knows (or actually cares) about but you?
One of the things that get me the most is the 7 or 8 foot long shifters they put in nowadays. May I ask WHY? I can't hardly keep mine in gear at the stock length on most of these miserable roads we run on and have to pay quarterly taxes on, let along one twice it's length. They must bungee them in gear down low or sumthin'.
Don't get me wrong, I had that same disease as a young buck too once. Time, age, and LACK of money seemed to change my perspectives quite a bit on all that nonsense, hahaha.

IMHO a big part of the “cool” factor in an old truck is the big steering wheel.
Tug Toy, W900AOwner and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
I'm blinging mine out just because its gonna be my toy. I intend to pull a 5th wheel RV and maybe build a deck on the back to double as a snowmobile/quad hauler.

In your case, it's acceptable, LOL. I'm talking about the "Billy Big-Rigger Syndrome" where some guys are either just barely getting by but will sacrifice paying a credit card payment for a set of J&J headlight brackets, or an unlimited trust funded budget where money's no object anyways. Those 2 examples are what I'm referring to. You're not intending to go pound the pavement to make a living with yours, it's a toy. Toy'd should be blinged out.Tug Toy, Bean Jr. and spsauerland Thank this.
