Hey girl... this couple has a youtube channel, and they trained as a couple with covenant. It answers a lot of the questions I have. The description on this video has links to a few more of their vids, and they have a facebook page. This is pretty current info.

OMG, thanks for the video. I have no idea why people that put out these videos feel the need to make them so freaking long... LAND THE PLANE!!!!! I had to stop 6 minutes in. It's like all the YouTubers have to make their videos a certain length...like our old 5000 word essays in school. I appreciate fast efficient information. Either show me something or tell me quickly. I hate talk radio for the same reason. Plus I am trying to watch this at work and keep getting interrupted. Thanks again. I'll keep trying to make it through their meandering video.

I can't listen to talkers either. My husband makes fun of the fact that I can't sit through a movie at home, unless its REALLY interesting. I can usually tell when a person first starts talking...if they are going to go long, and I plan my escape.

we are a team also but didnt go for covenant because they only start youout with 40 or 42 cents after your training i believe and then after 3 months then increase it to 52 (with hazmat). we felt like the company hire mainly teams and you have to compete with other teams. training as a team sounds nice but we trained separately and it was perfectly fine, she had a female trainer of course. we actually appreciate each other more after we got in a truck together and said finally !

the company we are working for right now is Celadon. they went thru some crisis recently but are going back to the basic (all about drivers now). their training program is 4 weeks but two weeks is local (you guys will be done at the end of the day and still able to spend time afterward). they start you 52 cpm (with hazmat) straight after training. sign on bonus and milleage bonus (up to 10 more cents on all miles). also vacation paid package just recently added on. we been doing coast to coast, each load has been at least 2000 miles. home time is 100 percent on point. a not bad company to start out with

That all sounds great but we do not want any HOMETIME. We will be living on the road for a few years, so we can put all of our $$ in the bank and not be supporting a house we are not living in.

lol yea we would do the same, but not atm. good luck. if needing more info, we would love to share our still on going rookie advice. there is also a company that would pay 60 cents per mile and it has a dedicated account that runs 5800+ and also all the perks like that extra 10 more cpm for all miles. they also have just team otr with the same cpm pay. total transportation of mississippi but we couldnt speak for them

another companh we spoke to is CSQT, pay 62 for team and heard they run hard. so if you guys wanted to live on the road, not a bad place to start with. talked the the owner wife Nancy on their fb page and she was nice. they will put you on a brand new 2019 freightliner with inverter, fridge, and apu. one thing is their health insurance plan is high (which we dont think they would pay for any) and need 6 months experience but talk to nancy. we wouldnt want any benefits for our first company to work for anyways, wait till you get into a better and more stable place. this company is smaller (170 trucks) and only has 15 teams ! so teams would be golden here and wanted

Thanks, we have our own lifetime healthcare benefit from our current professions. We are also looking at buying our own , older rig so we can become O/O at some point in the future and so we can practice shifting a big rig. I have 7 months before I can even begin school so I want to do something, besides troll the forum, to get me better prepared for this life change.
