Cross member replacement

    I was the same way with my 5th wheel. I paid $500 for a local welder to do it on the side

    I’d do it again, but I wasn’t rushed. I didn’t need the trailer at the time, had a nice shop, and all last winter to work on it. It would be a whole different matter if that was your only trailer and you were shut down until you got it fixed. In my case, the crossmembers were so bad, I bought another trailer to replace it before I ever started the project.

    None of it is hard work, and after the floor is removed you have ample room to work, it just takes a lot of time.

    Insurance said the cross members failed due to rust. So it's not covered. Now I gotta do as much as I can to save some money. I'm renting a trailer from the company I'm leased to for now

    What if you cut out the crossmember figure on one of the side to slide it in as a whole piece. Will it affect the structural integrity of the frame and how much will it cost to replace 33 of them on a 53’ landoll traveling axle trailer

    What if you cut out the figure of the crossmember on one of the sides will it affect the structural integrity of the frame? I need to replace 33 of them on a 53’ landoll traveling axle trailer around how much will it cost to replace in california.
