I was talking to my husband today (he's at Covenant) and he wanted me to try and find out how Covenant did last spring/summer. Did you guys get decent runs/miles? I know they aren't the greatest, but it will help in our decision if he should try and stay with them a while or try to find something else. We live in Michigan so I know it's kind of hard to get hired out of here.

I can't personally speak about covenant but before your husband jumps off the truck, I would make sure he has another driving job lined up. Most of the carriers have trimmed down alot in this slowed down economy.

As tough as things are right now, even a bad job might be better than no job.

From what I'm learning Rookie I can say I agree with you. He also does not want another company to think he is a job hopper. He isn't. He was with his last employer for 11 years. I think him losing that job was a matter of downsizing too.

Your right, and he gets the experience. I guess in a way......in the long run it may be worth it? Kinda like taking your lumps and working your way up?

You can't count on miles run last year as an indicator for what is ahead this year .

I know, but at least it's somewhat of an indicator. Is it true that most companies pick up in spring and summer or it won't matter for a company like Covenant because they are always hiring new drivers. Currently my husband is in a motel paid for by Covenant because their Chattanooga place is full, and the truck he is training in is getting worked on. If the hotel is full probably not a good sign huh?

Covenant stock was raised to "hold" from "underweight" by John Barnes at BB&T Capital Markets as reported in Transport Topics 1/5/09, page 14.
