I don't think the warehouse cares about weight, lol. Just load it till it don't fit anymore. I had 27,000LBS and 1395 cases in a 36 on Monday, packed. One problem, the route is set for a 28, a 36 does not fit in most of my schools in Harrisburg. Warehouse "claims" we are short on pups again and that is why they did that. 20180910_145626.jpg

I bet there were plenty of pups parked 3 deep out in the corner that are waiting for service, there's where you're shortage is. They probably have 12-15 of them parked in the corner by the shop. No they couldn't careless about weight. Some of the old timers said back in the day you would be pulling out of Brighton, MI with a set of doubles and you would pull out of the warehouse onto the street and hear SNAP! SNAP! What you were hearing was the trailer springs snapping.

Moneyman said that he was always way heavy out of the Kenosha, warehouse.

What's funny is GFS really isnt't even to crazy about the 36' there not uniquely GFS enough for GFS, I think they view them as a nessacary evil for the schools. I know there heck bent on not sending them on any other routes but the schools. GFS doesn't like stuff that's not uniquely GFS they only like GFS style stuff like the 28' which are GFS's claim to fame, first food distributor to ever run doubles.

Then the volume trailers are all 50' not 48' or 53' but 50' because there only 13' high (actually there shorter then that.) So the extra 2feet makes up for the height difference. James Austin Company the guy said to me, "What size trailer is this? This isn't a 48' is it? It doesn't seem like it." I said "Oh no it's a 50ft!"

They would have loaded that 36’ load into a 28’. Only company out there that can take a 36’ trailer load and cram it into a 28’. Sysco takes a 38’ trailer to do a 800 case route GFS takes a 28’ trailer to do a 800 case route! Heck 800 cases at GFS is considered medium heavy lol!
