My meet guy is on vacation, so I've been playing driver roulette. Last night's driver brought me a lead trailer with one of the brake cans hanging from the air lines about an inch from the ground.

Of course it wasn't like that when he left. There was an awful lot of dirt where the weld cracked for it to be a fresh break. It must be very dusty in Iowa.

Last week was truck driver appreciation week at GFS. I got a letter mailed to my house from the president of the company all the transport people did and Friday they sent us a box of candy bars, Im pretty sure I was the heaviest route in our branch yesterday. Took roughy I think closest estimate 181 hand truck loads to unload 1067 cases for 21,400lbs.

Any how about 11:30pm last night I totally shut down and fell asleep.

    I’d say that’s totally understandable.

Look at the sides of the trailers you get everyday and you will see why the 36 trailers don't go out on sales/service routes, LOL. Dan don't want those nice, new, sharp looking trailers getting trashed, LOL. You should see some of the tractors the sales.service drivers have. They could care less about the equipment.

2014, 312,000 miles. We got a bunch of 2018's in. Waiting on a 2016 to come back from an outlaying yard, just using that tractor for now. Our fleet has 2008's up to 2018's. 10 and out for the tractors.

I'm well aware of how sales service cares little about trucks and trailers. We have an entire yard full of equipment that looks like it was pieced together with parts from a rummage sale.

It was the last day of my week yesterday, so I rushed to my destination. My meet driver said the guy who normally does that route doesn't get there for another 2 hours, which is code for you just cost me two hours of overtime.

I told him I don't get paid enough to drag my heels like that on a Friday, which is new guy code thanking him for the wonderful contract he and the other old-timers voted in a few years back.

    I love good conversation.

Still got some 07's and 08's at the DC. Want some more junk in Cleveland? LOL And I have seen the way you take care of your tractor. They should give you an 2018. Two more came in this week.

We have pleanty of 2007s and some 2011s and handful of 2010 and 2012 units. We have (2) 2018s. Cleveland's fleet has always been among the junkiest.
