Shellea never called me back for the interview like she said she would. I tried to call her back twice and was told there is a hiring freeze and she was busy.

I thought it was pretty crappy of her. I have decided to stay put at Fedex for now. It is probably for the best that she did not call, as my trucks are doing well and I am a little scared of changing jobs with the economy the way it is.

I might look into it again when things pick up.
Thanks for all the info on Superior they sound like a great company to work for. Maybe one day in the future I give it another try. But for now my dedicated Fedex routes seem to be worth holding on to.

Do you know approximately how many miles WALMART extra board drivers get on average? I'll be a new CDL driver and I'm single so I don't mind the relocating issue I just need to find somewhere to work for at least a year.

    hey man..
I noticed u are a GREEN HORN (rookie) walmart is a great job they just do not hire out of school nor less than 2 yrs OTR.

My advise if u wanna go dryvan is to go with
    Schneider
    Swift
    Jb hunt

I know they suck but u need to get about 2 yrs under you

    As far as your question

    Home weekly (extra board)
    Slip seat position
Miles vary ( week to week)
Avg gross pay $1275.00 to 1400 starting at bottom mileage rate which u top out in 3 yrs

    Stay positive don't give up

Everyones gotta start out ... We all did just not at walmart private fleet

Unless they have changed things in last 6 months since I resigned I will make some calls and do some digging for u on the inside.

    What location u looking at?

How far u willing to drive to work weekly ?

Are u open to other facilites around country or a set region?

    Stay positive

Just got back tonight from a trip to CA. what fun!!! I must say I'm becoming addicted to the Idol air, I never used it much but I will be taking advantage of this little perk a little bit more. I had a good time and got to see some great country as I don't get out that way much anymore. I spent the night at the Memphis term. last night and was surprised by the remodeling of the drivers room. It's been a little slow here in Kingsport, how have you all been running? Take care and keep the shiny side up!!

    1. I'm trying to find something in Utah but I have no ties to home so I'm willing to relocate anywhere.

    2. Since I have no ties to home I'll probably just live in the truck or on days off rent a hotel room wherever's close. I wouldn't even mind pitching a tent in a park if the pesky ranger wouldn't roust me out lol. I'm kind of a hermit.

    3. I prefer the west since it's what I know but I'm open to anything. Part of the allure of trucking for me is that the scenery is always changing.

I'll put in my application at the companies you mentioned and see how it goes. Thanks for the info.

Put in your time u will be happy in the end experience is everything

    Call KOCH trucking. Prounounced (cook)

Read my first entry I worked for them on a dedicated account for Kmart I left under good terms and have an inn they will take u I am pretty sure . Call ask for stephine in recuriting tell her that her Walmart driver she had back in June sent u.

    Tell her I say hi
I oviously get nothing out of this don't even work there but they slipped my mind forgot to mention them u will be happy there they will treat u right . I am sure as u read I only left them for a local job which was a mistake. U may not get a dedicated run may have to run OTR until one opens up but it's worth it

    They have dedicated

    Kmart ( I did this)
    Bestbuy
    Cummins
    Onan
    Ashley furniture

Good luck keep me posted but definetly call her and be sure u talk to steph she is a strait shooter.
