Yep. And a lot of them will get on load boards (on duty), go unload to save lumper fee (on duty) get out and polish their chrome mud flap (on duty) and then claim "All I do is check in".
The 14 hour rule needs to stay just as it is.

I am not trolling, I believe that if you have that many truckers together in a room, you have no problem in life that cannot be solved. It will whatever the problem is, get solved.
And the trucking industry, there are companies that will totally fire you for bleating about not being in compliance. Tell me this... why were you not in compliance with the HOS designed to prevent you from waiting all day and then driving all night?Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -

Doesn’t matter if a shipper held them up, or a major wreck or fog or a snowstorm, nope!! These real men will drive 40 hours straight no matter what to keep their record of on time delivery.
There was an argument last year that elogs were unfair to owner ops because a Mega company could repower a load to have on time delivery where an owner op was losing the ability to deliver on time by creating a legal looking log page. -

But you have to follow these rules.
Never work over 12 hours per shift. (timeclock)
Never work over 70 hours in a pay week (7 days)
Never work 7 days straight.
