I'm looking into buying a RCI N4 or galaxy 98vhp but just wanted to ask around if there was another radio that's better or same but cheaper? I'm going to use it in a a t680 with 2 7ft antennas that are already installed.

1) What, in your view, does “better” mean?
2) To power high watt radios requires more than the usual skill. And supplies, gear and such so as not to fry — or interfere — with truck electronics.
Can’t just go to BATT + / - anymore.Sgonza101 Thanks this. -
The bestest radio for CB ... aka 11 meters is ....
Best overall design, best rejection in the IF, best front end, best audio.rabbiporkchop, Crude Truckin' and Sgonza101 Thank this. -
I still have one of those, although I think mine is just the messenger 323. They use to advertise them saying they have 100 times more rejection than other radios. Plus they were built like a tank. -

Not sure about the RCI, but. The Galaxy won't fit in the CB cabinet on the T680. You can make 2 brackets and hang it in place of the center sun visor. Like I did on mine. Nothing bigger than a Cobra 29 will fit in the upper cabinet. A side mic can fit, but it's a PITA.
I also wired my radio to the battery with no issue so far, but only running 125 watts.stacks Thanks this. -
Actually I was playing off of Ridgelines post about EF Johnson CB radios from 40 years ago. They probably really were the best CB radio back in the day. They were kind of ugly looking though.Sgonza101 Thanks this. -
Best sounding radios I’ve ever heard.
Sgonza101 Thanks this.
