For me one of my issues is inflammation pain driven by motion. When I am up for the new day I have a certain amount of gas tank so to speak to do work of whatever it might be before the pain levels from inflammation gets too much.
Ive done PT a decade ago which unlocked muscles frozen by trucking and gave me my mobility back and then once loose they found problems in the thoratic spine and lumbar, further tests and scans over years revealed a variety of spine issues.
To this day when I have a new day, I spend it carefully choosing what work I will do before I have to stop. There is another choice which I don't like to make and that is reserve medicine supply to extend the amount of work any given day. But the price of that is immobility for three after.
It's not a life I wish on anyone. But it is what it is and we are living it well enough in spite of it. I could not ask for any better. The worst of it is the doctors. I can easily run up 10 to 20K in a month if I wanted to go to all of them. But no. I have to carefully choose which is the most important and pressing and can be fixed then go. Otherwise it will just have to wait. Ive already exceeded 30 to 40K in the last year and about 150K in the last 10 to 15 years of medical care.
Discouraged, injured, went back to work, now the pain.

I had a lamenectomy for a ruptued disc when I was 28. The surgeon was the head of the neurosurgery at a large Buffalo NY hospital. He described my disc as looking like a blown out tire. He spent a lot of time fishing out the small pieces. Those were his words.
I started driving a truck when I was not yet 30. So, 18 months after surgery I was in a truck. I’ve been there ever since (35 years). The first 2 years were rough. Winter and cold damp weather were especially bothersome.
Keeping the weight off is super important. A big belly pulls directly on the back. Back specific exercises also help.
Good luck.x1Heavy and Roaddreamer Thank this. -

My leg pain isnt sciatica, from what my surgeon says. But it does branch off of it, right around the knee it splits into the superficial peroneal nerve and something else. That's what the results of my emg concluded. Knee up great and responsive. Knee down "abnormal". If you touch the outside of your knee and go to about the top of where you're calf muscle is, that's where the pain was. Much like some one digging around with an ice pick. It would shoot down into my toes. Gave me foot drop. Which cause other problems by favoring my other side.
The pain was unbearable at times it brought tears to my eyes. I say this pain alone was worse then any pain brought on from the herniation of my discs. I was prescribed Meloxicam and gabapentin. They worked fabulous but made me an antisocial zombie. I don't take the gabapentin but occasionally take a Meloxicam
I have started exercising more. I'm at about the 2 week mark for it. Though I would call it more of physical therapy. I'm maintaining this routine for about six more weeks. Then I may try some light weight training and more cardio.
Thanks for all of your input.Trucking in Tennessee and x1Heavy Thank this. -
I dumped the Gabapentin into the toilet and did not refill the new month.
I don't like what it did to the mind. It's not worth it if I wanted that kind of fun, I'll triple the dose of the narcotics...Roaddreamer Thanks this. -
I only take hydrocodone when necessary. Usually just 800pmg ibuprofen.
Roaddreamer Thanks this. -
I only have a the gabapentin for the winter.
I didn't like it either. It made me very forgetful.
Meloxicam works great for me. It's a perscription NSAID. I take one a month now maybe.
I also have cyclebenzaprine. Which is hidden away in my house for my next spasm hopefully it'll never come.
Trucking in Tennessee maybe look into the Meloxicam? It's cheap and stronger then the ibuprofen.x1Heavy and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this. -
Did not read all the reply's. Make sure your not sitting on a wallet. That is a no no for sure. Adjust that seat where it fits you. Not take what ever setting its at.
Best thing I have done, and stopped my leg pain. And I had this leg pain for 20 years. Started taking CBD oil, and within a few days it was gone. Been 15 months and still doing good. Also taken 4 drug test. And it dose not show up. Because it has not THC, that they test for.Roaddreamer and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this. -
I haven't looked into CBD oil at. I recently read an article about a trucker getting pulled over and he was vaping the oil. I believe they oos him and gave him a fine amongst other things.
How does one take the oil exactly? Are there any effects?
I haven't sat on my wallet in years. Thanks though.
Most of my pain now is weather related. At least last year it was. Or if I do something stupid to tweak my back or make it spasm.
It's starting to get colder over here in PA. High 40s, low 50s at night. That's when I start driving. I don't know if I'm anticipating a pain and making my mind play tricks on me.
I'll post back periodically with updates.
Ordering DDP yoga tomorrow!danny23tx Thanks this. -
Doing this I went from taking Oxycotins 2 times per day. To nothing in 5 days. Dr had me taking those, as I had gotten where the leg pain was so bad. I could not walk 100ft.
The CBD oil does not help everyone. But almost everyone that I know it has helped.
Not sure I would vape it. But using the dropper should work. And again noting in there they can get you for. Sold over the counter in most places now days.Trucking in Tennessee and Roaddreamer Thank this.
