Hey Warrior! Well, I did get hired. I start the middle of August Did you get hired on as PT or only cover City Driver part time? If you are PT are you guaranteed a minimum number of hours? Thanks for your input!!
I applied for this program a few weeks ago with no response yet. Looks like the openings are primarily for evening shifts.
Thats where new drivers start unless you're working as city (local pickup/delivery)or intermodal driver. If you live at newark area, new terminal about to open (located at North Arlington near 280/95 interchange) at jan 14th and they are lacking on drivers. They have so far 38 drivers combined from two centers and they need 70 drivers.
I got a interview tomorrow at FedEX Freight for a Road Driver. I'd pay money to leave my current company. I hope I get offered a position at this place it sounds great. Lady of the phone told me pay starts a .54 mile and 23.00 h/r... I work 2 buildings down the road and make .41 as a line haul driver.
Dock work is pretty easy, most of it is forklift work, aside from breaking down the beams and plastic decking from inside the trailers or rebuilding damaged skids and such.
No it's not that hard. You will be training with someone for a week on the dock. They will teach you everything that you need to know.
Hey so I have my class a permit and all the endorsments, the only thing I'm worried about is about 4 years ago i got into a car accident no ticket was issued it was a no fault accident. On the mvr from the dmv its listed as injury. Would this dq me from getting a fed ex job as driver apprentice?
Probably not since this was 4 years ago and it's not your fault. I would apply and then give them a call.
Great info here! I did a search after seeing FedEx is hiring for drivers and driver apprentices locally. I was interested what the DDC program entailed because I don't have 1 year of recent OTR experience.
