You don’t remember all the posts about “ I bought a new truck, now where do I get high paying loads?”

Can’t remember how many of those I saw just on this site from about March till a last month I think was the las t I seen.

I had the ITS Pro version for two months to see and compare it to DAT Loadboard. For dry van, DAT seems to have much better load selection. DAT TruckersEdge Pro Version and above (DAT Power and Power - Office), comes with the lane rate average for the last 15 days. ITS also has something similar but DAT's numbers seem to adhere much better to reality. Also other analytical tools and features appear to be better developed. I canceled the subscription to ITS, I find DAT to be much a better product. However, the sad truth is that any loadboard , no matter how fancy, is still a huge container of freight leftovers.

Are you saying there isn't a source or reference to show how many new authorities have been established recently?

I've been under the impression liability is very expensive and difficult to obtain in the last couple of years, dissuading a lot of folks from pursuing their own authority.

I think it's more likely that, and obvious from my perspective, that what is happening is there are more folks buying trucks and leasing on to other existing companies authorities.

The company I used to work for three years ago has gone from about 40% lease operators to 75% lease operators in the past couple of years.

Not only the suckers who are buying the "lease to own...make lots of money" leasing very expensive costing trucks from the owner, but a lot of guys bringing on their own trucks to his fleet.

    Bingo!

Guy I’m leased to has all his trucks full and new trucks on order.

Year before last, 2 empty trucks and no desire to put ##### in them.

This seems to be a popular model in the last decade. I guess, it legitimizes hiring on 1090. It is not much different from Schneider ICC choice but they at least can bail after 1 year or so and can pick their own freight.

WOW...I did not know that. I guess, now I am screwed with my "newbie" MC# forever. It can't get much higher...wish I had at least 8 in front.
