New driver with a new truck (to me anyway) and want to know what is going to make my transmission and clutch last the longest and have the least wear/expense. What do you with experience recommend? Double-clutch or powershift?
Thanks in advance,
Fred

You're going to hear arguements for both sides of this issue.
The only thing I can bring to the arguement, the fact the "gearbox" remains tighter, for much longer when you double clutch.
If you've ever driven one that has been floated by numerous drivers. The first thing you noice, is how much slack/play there is in the shifter.
I like a tight box, and double clutch more often than not.FredW Thanks this. -
madbunny, Caterpillar Cowboy, Mr Ed and 2 others Thank this.

you ain't right, but you are.
if you can "powershift" "float" correctly i would think, less wear and tear. some have a knack for hearing/feeling/seeing the shift point, others don't i guessWiseguywireless Thanks this. -

My gear box is to tight sometimes, I do both, I dbl clutch when on grades and such, and on the flat I power shift,
