Sorry I haven't posted any updates just slipped my mind. I like it so far I'm not on my own yet still with trainer. My test out date is Oct 5th but will be after that our load drops in Nevada and my terminal is Lakeland Florida. So it will be a few days after we drop and try and get back that way. Please ask any questions and I'll try and answer or find the answer.

No problem, glad to hear it's still going well for you. I've seen around the forums that Knight's trucks don't have APUs, is that true? If so, do they get very picky/micromanaging about idling?

This isn't super important, but I was also wondering if their pet policy allows for more than one pet or not.

They have a board at the home terminal that shows everyones numbers Someone I know who works out of OR gets Idle % weekly from his DM If you are in the bottom 3rd consistently they will nag you about it.
If you only Idle when necessary & try driving your max hrs, you will only lose the fuel bonus about 3 or 4 mos out of the year. They want you below 10% in winter & 20% in summer
Knight is a big company but each terminal has it's own fleet. From everything I have heard the worst terminal for micromanagement is Phoenix because that is the home of the Company.

Tony850, are you still at Knight? How was the rest of your training? Curious as I've been looking at going with them once I've gotten my CDL.

Also curious. Looking at them but it's been 2 years since I got my cdl though and no trucking experience.

No apu and they dont bother you about idling as long as you dont do it all the time when not needed automatically shuts off if above 73 or below 32. But there are ways around that on most trucks. I idle when I want to and have never been spoken to about it. The pet policy is something I dont know much about I know you can have one but I dont want one

@Tony850, one of my instructors seems to think that while in the squire program a new driver will only go home if the dispatcher allows it until they are a full "Knight" after they drive 30,000 miles. On the other hand my impression is that while doing your 30,000 you're treated like any other driver with Knight when it comes to home time depending on your fleet. For example Western 11 drivers are out 10-14 and home 2-3 according to their website.

Anyhow...how were you treated during your time doing your 30,000? Is there any truth to what my instructor is saying?

    Thanks.

Lol no you go home as requested I stayed out 3-4 weeks at a time and always go home 4 days never any problems. You are a driver and are treated as such do work and run hard and nobody bothers you. Talk to your dm and tell him where you want to run and what you expect from him
