I'm thinking about adding my own coax. The factory coax is junk in this truck. I'll definitely try what you said before I change it out. I find it very strange how the first day that I added ground straps my swr was 1.1. But if I check my swr today it's way higher. Kinda like if something is wrong. I'm guessing that it's the coax...

Not on your truck. The am/fm radio has it's own antenna. I only run the driver's side antenna. I also have new coax running to the passenger side antenna. Incase something happens to one I have the other.

If I use them together the swr goes up to around 2.5. I believe 1.1 is better with 1 antenna vs 2.5 with 2 antennas. I think I read from Wilson antennas once before that truck antennas need to be about 8 feet apart to be efficient. I could be wrong that's been a couple years ago.

With 2 ant if both are cb should be about 75 ohm vs the 50 from 1 ant..
Yes its either 102 or 108" apart..102 is 8.5 ft..Been debateing if i wanna try a steel whip but its an extra foot and a half over my skip shooter..

Haven't measured the distance between the two on my T880 or the ohms. Just going off what my meter said running the two together. And, my meter runs about 0.02 below what my local CB shops analyzer does.

IMO, I wouldn't worry about a whip until you commit to drilling a hole in your roof and add a backing plate so it doesn't rip itself out in a month or so.

I'm in the opposite boat. I like the whip, but am debating a skip shooter. :D

I have an idea for a mirror mount for my new cascadia that will mount behind the mirror mount itself..It will be nice and strong unlike just bolting up to mirror mount..

    Sgonza101 Thanks this.
