Don’t do teams for less than $100k a year per driver. If you have to run a truck and smell another guy’s balls, it should only be for top dollar. Why would you volunteer to smell balls when you can make the same amount of money solo?

I'd say my work ethic is above average. I've quickly moved up at any place I've worked, and at my current job, I've pretty much moved to the top of the pack in a group of about 200 people.
I'm accustomed to working 50-70 hours a week when we are busy and have plenty of experience loading and unloading trucks already. I definitely do whatever it takes to get the job done and done on time.
I'm hoping that a lot of the people I see complaining about low pay are people who have significantly lower work ethic than myself.

    How much 1st year? :biggrin_25526:
Takes a while to get good runs, guaranteed, you won't start out at the top, as much as you'd like that. I'm out of the loop considerable, but seems high $20's, low $30's, and it may be more than a year at that.

Very true! I can't imagine a truck driver today, making so little in pay.
In Houston, the big paychecks are there; $60K+, first year, for a new cdl school grad that drives tankers.
Schneider Bulk will reimburse cdl school tuition up to $7000.00 if you'll drive tankers for them. Their tanker school is in Houston and that's where you will be sent after completion of cdl school.

Yeah, but how many tanker drivers do they need, or that even make the cut. Fact is, probably 90% of new drivers will be finger printing a load at Family Dollar, for $29g's/year.

Here is the problem I see, you work a few decades and make and save as much as you can, then you have all this stuff weighing you down because of the long line grabbing whatever they can. Then you left with the derbies of your past life and all them family and friends that were grabbing are gone, Why? You aint taking it with you, but you can be a pain in the

Just about every chemical tanker company has a terminal in the Houston. Superior, Dana, Service Transport, Schneider, Quality Carriers and many others Some will hire drivers right out of school. Talk to all of them and find out who offers what. You are in a good area. Also the oilfields are hiring.
