I shall never want for a shower again.
We have to use Love's.....always. So I'll be "Platinum" by Mid March.
I'll never run low of coffee either
We can get off network fuel when needed. But we're limited to 50 gallons...with authorization.
Trust me when I say you NEVER want to run low of fuel off the beaten path. Fueling your truck 3 times in one day, really screws your log book up. -
Speak for yourself there "Stinky", I will not go more than 48 hrs without a shower, whether it comes out of my pocket or not.
My company will pay for showers, they believe the appearance of their equipment and drivers to be a big part in their continued success while others are failing in this downtrodden economy. I try to use the "free showers" that come with a fuel purchase every chance I get, but do not hesitate to pay for one with the co. CC or out of pocket and they will reimburse me with the next settlement.
If more companies took this attitude towards appearance the trucking industry would not have the "lowlife" reputation that it does now.
MOleannamarie and Roadhound Thank this. -

I am surprised that no-one has suggested asking another driver to either give you a shower off of his frequent fueler card or catch a driver heading into the truck stop to take a shower and simply "claim" you are co-drivers. The truck stop will hand out 2 keys for separate showers and only deduct 1 shower from the reward points card. It is a courtesy for the "team drivers" that they do this.
I hear drivers on the cb all the time asking for a free shower. I have given many away as well as vouched for several drivers over the years and claimed him/her as a co-driver when I went inside to get a shower myself. I have never been asked to show company ID or prove that the person I am with is actually my "co-driver."
Now before you guys get to thinking I do not shower let me clarify this. I get free showers at my home as well as company terminals so I am not missing out on anything.
Besides I think it is ridiculous that these truck stops drop showers off the drivers frequent fueler cards after it has been 5 days. I know lots of drivers that get fuel on the road but choose to shower at the motel when they shut down, the company terminal, or when they get home. The truck stops are not giving out nearly as many showers as they confiscate by the end of the week.
As a team driver myself on a dedicated route I rack up plenty of showers each week and never use them all (because I get to go home regularly).
So be kind to your fellow driver. Offer the use of a shower that you yourself do not need or vouch for the other driver and claim him/her as a co-driver.Last edited: Feb 22, 2009

well, there is always the car wash...
or you could get a camping shower and set it up behind your rig! -
You can always do what my Mom told me to do when we were camping and had to take a sink bath. First wash down and far as possible, then wash up as far as possible, then when no one is looking, wash possible. When times are tough I can do this with a few baby wipes in the back of the truck after a tough day.
