So things have been so slow in Texas and Louisiana lately almost impossible to book a decent paying load the day i need the load. So i been booking everything for most of the next week on Friday. I booked a load to Fort worth for tuesday delivery. and had loads all the way through Thursday. so I deliver my load and next pickup is 3 miles away to pickup at 18:00 well about 14:15 I get a call from broker saying there was some issues with this product and it is not going to be able to ship today. no way in hell can I get another load since all loads were booked early am. load was paying 950 so ill lose that and also lose all other loads i had behind it as well. this zero compensation for screwing me out of thousands of dollars is not working. how does everyone else handle this situation this has been happening a lot lately.

Straight up man. Find a local business some kind of manufacture or distributor/wholesaler. Get yourself a set dedicated run. Working 5 days a week. They can be hard to find, but the money can be rediculous.

I’m not a fan of brokers and loadboards. I like out & back trips, that pay well enough to d/h back for tomorrow’s load.

a bit of advice, stop thinking about the dollars per load, think about the month end.

AND don't book so tight without back ups.

I would take the time and run a load to make the fuel money to get to the next load.

That works fine when your running otr not local I only run louisiana and texes usually within a 500 mile radius. 900 miles to my next load. so that means by running 450 miles to pick up next load means i will be paid 950 for running 800 miles for a 2 day trip I just lost money not worth the dead head. or the time especially now with la and tx are both bad areas for freight right now. I waited that day I called a broker i haul a specific load for alot i remember him telling me this week load was being offered on wedensday normally they go out on tuesday so I called him it was available it never goes on the load board it pays 1500 for 400 miles so by waiting i ended up with a better option. but doesn't always end this well. I haven't been able to put in a full week.
and no they never offered me tonu its funny when im on the load their quick to respond to me emails soon as they screw me on a load and i ask for tonu they quit answering my emails.

I swear I would like to do a database on the brokers that screw drivers put them in this database where they can be reviewed and other drivers can see the ones with alot of negative marks against them.

Haul for fuel money... There's some sage advice...

Try 100% tonu. 100% of original rate booked. What they gonna do say no?

Setting a nice week up on Friday works nice until one load drops out from under you, I've had it happen a few times and nothing adds up and looks as good as it did by the time you've figured something out.
