Yeah I know, I owned a step deck with a conestoga for 4 years, then I wised up (after the appropriate therapy of course) and went back to tankers,

No,but they would certainly be within their rights, they are the employer. Telling you to run recapp is not telling you to violate any laws, simply telling you to run with the hours you have available. Gee, Wally me and the beaver ran that way fer years......
same if they decide to repower the load, is not your decision your a driver.

See, this is where I had some of my most worse arguments with dispatch/operations. I never had a problem with the basics behind a repower. However I absolutely refused to repower if that repower caused me to have to shut down. Let me explain! If there was something wrong with the trailer or load I would not let the driver have mine! I am not a high tempered person normally. However dispatch knew I was serious and would park and clean out my tractor. There are a lot of drivers out there that find convenient reasons to pawn off junk to other drivers, and those drivers are too chicken to stop and say NO I won't do it. Not meaning to hijack a thread, however that comment hit a bad nerve with me!

Repowers can be used by dispatching to fix errors that THEY made. Leaving a dumb driver (like me) sitting all day unpaid so somebody in dispatch doesn’t get caught for their schedule screw-up. Melton was famous for that. See my thread about it.
